Kane Will Surpass Shearer’s Premier League Record –Parlour

Former Arsenal midfielder Ray Parlour believes that England striker Harry Kane will eventually surpass legendary Newcastle United striker Alan Shearer’s Premier League record.

Shearer has the record for the most goals scored in the Premier League with a total of 260.

Harry isn’t very far off, he’s just 47 goals shy of Shearer’s tally as he has scored 213 league goals in Tottenham Hotspur colours.

However the 30 year old talisman sealed a move to Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich this just concluded summer transfer window.

He signed a four year deal with the German League champions as he hunts for his first trophy.

He won the Premier League golden boot award three times at Tottenham Hotspur.

In an interview with MightyTips as quoted by teamtalk.com, Parlour says Kane will return to the Premier League after his time at Bayern.

“He’s certainly got time cause he looks after himself these days, he can play a little bit longer, and he’s a clever player, isn’t he? He can play that number 10 role,” Parlour said.

“I always go look at Teddy Sheringham, Teddy was that sort of player as well. He’d play until late thirties, fourties even.

“I know there’s a lower division, but you know he could play at a good standard in the Premier League. So you think Harry will (return).

“If it all goes well for Bayern Munich and they can win a few trophies , Harry will be delighted. And the Champions League is obviously the one from Bayern’s point of view. Again I’m sure he will come back at a certain time.

“It’s all about your body really and whether you can handle games. I think German football will be a little bit easier than the Premier League, so maybe that gives him a little bit more time to come back.

“But I’m sure he will look at that record and say it’s still there to be beaten, and if I can get a few good years in Germany, win a few trophies, who knows I could come back and still win the record off Shearer, which would be an amazing achievement to have the Premier League record and England record. After a few trophies in Germany, that would probably be the icing on the cake for his career.”

Kane has tallied up seven goals and three assists in five Bundesliga matches this season.

He has a total of eight goals and four assists in six games across all competitions for the Bavarians.

They currently sit in first position on the Bundesliga table with 13 points accumulated after five matches.

Bayern play RB Leipzig next on Saturday, September 30 at the Red Bull Arena.
