Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp insists previous results are not on his mind as he gets set to take on Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.
Liverpool are on a quest to pick up their first ever Premier League crown and already have a five-point lead over champions Manchester City and a seven-point lead over Mauricio Pochettino’s Tottenham, the two sides who are expected to challenge for the top prize along with the Reds.
Klopp’s men are also on an incredible run of form losing just one of their last 44 matches in the Premier League but Klopp knows they have to improve their record on the road against top-six rivals.
Despite taking a remarkable 115 points from a possible 132, their record away from Anfield against the top sides is not brilliant, in their previous 12 away matches at Chelsea, both Manchester clubs, Tottenham and Arsenal they have returned with just one three-point haul.

Klopp knows if they could add some away wins at their nearest challengers to their current form they would be just about unstoppable but their record away at the top six is one area where their form has dropped – in the 2016-17 season they won two and drew three of their trips to the top six and Klopp wants to repeat that sort of run.
He said: “We go there to get a result. “We cannot go to Chelsea and want a guarantee that you win the game, they are just too strong for that. “Obviously we have a job do but we will prepare for the game without that stat. It’s all about the quality of the performance. “It is not written in the stars that we are not allowed to win at Chelsea but it is obviously difficult.”
Chelsea’s last home league defeat came last December and their 11-match unbeaten run at Stamford Bridge includes six clean sheets, so it will be no easy task for Liverpool on Sunday.Copyright © 2020 Completesports.com All rights reserved.
