Crystal Palace midfielder Cheikhou Kouyate has backed his teammate Eberechi Eze to be one of the key stars in the Premier League , reports Completesports.com.
Eze made his full Premier League debut for Palace against Everton at the Selhurst Park on Saturday.
It was a bittersweet moment for the talented player as his side lost the game 2-1.
The 22-year-old was one of the key performers for Roy Hodgson’s side in the game.

He was replaced by Belgium forward Michy Batshuayi 15 minutes from time.
”This kid is so special,” Kouyate told the club website.
“Now we need to give him a little bit of time.
“The Premier League are going to enjoy him because he has a good mentality, he plays well and we are happy to have this boy here.”
Eze has made three league appearances for Crystal Palace this season.

He’s got the talent . He can do better. I wish him the best
Hmmm…W.Troost Ekong is not in Udinese match day squad today. There match is on now. Could this mean the Watford move is true??
Also, Leon Balogun is back. He came on in the 60th minutes against Motherwell today and they ran out with a 5-1 Victory. Also good to hear is Calvin Ughelumba Bassey playing today for Rangers. He played 90 minutes of the encounter. One for the future. A very solid and brilliant Left Back
We are the ones making this young man feel he’s too big for SE.
While watching his game on sat.day, i got to a point that i asked myselft if this is the EZE the NFF and some people are hyping up and down.
So absurd, the guy did nothing special.
Just a normal “receive & pass”, “try to cut in & pass”, “it was only one defender that marked him compared to our CHUKWUEZE where 2 defenders are always struggling to mark…
Ask MADRID & BARCA”.
I thought he’s a kind of player in the caliber of the likes of SANCHO, CHUKWUEZE, SAKA, MOUNT, RASHFORD, VINICIOUS, FATI, RICHALISSON, GREENWOOD or even ODOI, ABRAHAM, WILLOCK & NKETIAH that can change or inflence any match with their tricks and skills, that can force the opposition coach to caution his FULLBACKS to be mindful of them but only to DISCOVER that the young man is just one overated HENRY ONYEKURU.
No wonder he want to force himself on SOUTHGATE.
If he continue playing like that i bet him he wouldn’t even have a place in england’s standby list.
@UBFI, I don laff tire… Overrated Onyekuru…. Lolz. You have made my weekend. On a more serious note, now that he Eze is playing elite level football, let’s see how he updates his skills to match the calibre of oppositions he will be facing. I saw him try some of his piercing dribbles that caused problems in the Championship but he was always quick to be reminded by the opposition defenders that the Premier League is different from what he is used to. Make we siddon see how he go adapt as season progresses. For now, whatever he is selling, we get am in abundance for the current Super Eagles players.
I have always maintained that Eze is not good enough for SE. Ejaria is by far better than him. I dont know any of them in person but I arrive at the conclusion after watching both of them on youtube. For now iwobi remains our choice number 10 no doubt about that. Ejaria is coming in to deputised him. We dont need Eze unless he ups his game and show enough zeal to play for nigeria by writing to the coach or NNf chairman, picknik..
We don’t need to moan what you don’t have , I therefore see no reason comparing a player we don’t have to a player committed his future to Nigeria (in that respect, Iwobi is 150% better and greater than Eze any day ) , no player should be begged to play for super eagles, Eze inclusive ;
However, it appear some are sentimental about rating Eze unfairly perhaps because of his not committal to Nigeria which in anyway is his prerogative right changing allegiances is a big decision harder than it may appear especially a youthful young boy that is used to a fantastic systems coupled with great welfare packaging while on National duty and In retirement Unlike a sorry system in our country from government to the non inspiring NFF ( many factors to consider by the innocent young boy . John Fashanu only have one or two appearances or so for English National team turning his back against Nigeria, today today he smiles to bank with alert of £5k per month while his counterparts that served Nigeria even died on the pitch like Okwaraji were regretting in death while those alive are full of regret helplessly watching the park of jokers in the glass house ( NFF) , who could have thought , Karl Ikpeme can be easily forgotten, not even compensation as goal keepers trainer with the super eagles , how about Peter Rufai and Ike Shorumi who have worked and learned quality techniques both locally and in Europe yet we have Aloy Agu on the saddle ( today goal tenders are the major problem in the super eagles with 4 years reign of Rohr ( it has never been bad in the super eagles , from Great Okala , to Best Ogedengbe to Rufai , Shorumi to Enyama to Ikpeme , who is to blame other majorly goalkeeper trainer before picking on the head coach ) .
In my conclusion, without sentiment and needless comparison of bird at hand which our Yoruba would says worthy more than 1000 in the bush , Eze is a talented raw diamond that is ready to explode at the big stage , the attributes are there written all over him , it is our people’s parlance “ Ti a ba ri Erin Ka so pe ari Erin ( when we see an Elephant, we should for once acknowledge, not to belittled an elephant as something that pass you by in jiffy ) . Eze is a natural talented attacking midfielder that can easily take after JJ when he is off age , he has strong character without complex that are common with average Nigerian players starters , he is bold to take on any defence , surge forward to take corner kicks , free kicks and dribble anywhere ( that is a strong of ‘YES I CAN DO IT mentality that is lacking in many of our players particularly when playing abroad ) ; go and check how the likes of JJ started even in the Super eagles, the local boy Sunday Oliseh , local Amokachi etc ( If Eze were to be an English, he would have been overhyped by the English press as they do to their own and would have been the first to be called for England team with Saka . One thing that is constant with Eze is , he is growing up in Career from Championship now to Premiership …. and the boy is just 22 years old ( ….. It is still raining, you say, it is not as heavy as that of last night , who says it cannot double that of last night before the rain stops ).
@ nice reasoning. is been quite a while since we share from your thoughts. meanwhile we are not to be compared to the uk in terms of welfare of players bcos they are far ahead. not only to footballers, also to workers and uneployed people. infact everybody is well taking care of. in our world there is also advantages like lands and houses in abuja( na only wen dey win oh). one month house rent in uk is equal to one year house rent in lagos. a plot of land in uk can buy u an acre of land in our country. if our players invest well in nigeria they are entitled to more revenue than the so called welfare in uk. ur investment in nigeria can be inherited by family from generation to generation in the uk welfare is not inheritable. and if you buy a house there your may not be able to inherit ur proparties if they failed to meet up to the requirements which is almost equal to rebuying the proparty. the cost of drink in lagos bar is almost equal to the cost of drinks in the uk bar but wat you pay for your bar rent and tax in uk monthly is equal to a year rent and tax in thesame bar quality in lagos or portharcourt yet your customers and income revenue is more than that u will get in the expensive uk. in uk u are wired to be average or a bit above average unless u are a celebrity or multi milion investor but in naija u can remain very poor if u are lazy or dumb and you can become very rich and even afford house help for your kids if you are smart and hardworking. comparing both world, apart from sicurity isues i think africa is still the best place to live. many europeans will agree on these facts. if you are eze and you earn 40 k pounds a week. save 5 k pounds in a nigerian bank every week for five years you will have 600 milion naira in five years. if you invest that in lagos. you are better than the so called walfare reciever in the uk. u will be having a nice time holidays in thesame uk anytime u like. but in the uk if u work hard u can still remain average and will be reluctant to travel for holidays due to fear of expences. these are just my observations it may not be exactly as i observed.
Good reasoning @ Collins Id. Aside security, I will always put it straight that Africa will be heaven for these rich footballers. They should go ask Lennox Lewis and many other accomplished black British/Americans who everyday are locating back to Ghana, leaving like lords of the ring. Whatever we own in the UK is VIRTUAL REALITY but for security reasons loads will be relocating back home.
If Eze is that good he should’ve been hyped up by the English media by now. Why has the English media not been talking about him?? Oh they’re waiting for him to explode before hyping him up abi??? Saka is been hyped up now despite the fact that he said Nigerian blood is running in his veins. A talent is a talent any day once you’re good you’re good. As much as I will like Eze to choose Nigeria ahead of England I haven’t really seen anything spectacular from him since he moved to Crystal Palace. Any player can take free kicks and corner kicks, but the end result is what truly matters. Mikel throughout his days in the SuperEagles is always responsible for most free kicks and corner kicks. I can’t remember anytime he floated a free kick and met by any of his teammates in the SuperEagles colors. In fact I’m still rolling in laughter at those that are comparing Eze with the great Jay-Jay Okocha. Really are you guys kidding me?? If na joke abeg make una stop am. I need to see more instincts and assist from him to even consider him close to Jay-Jay. For now Iwobi is a better option in our attacking midfield position. Besides Eze doesn’t really play as a midfielder for Crystal Palace he plays almost the same position Iwobi plays for Everton so what’s the fuse about??
From what I’ve seen of Eze so far I doubt if Southgate will ever drop a Raheem Sterling, Radon Sancho, Foden or even Greenwood for Eze. At the end of the day the blame goes to Rohr. Lmao!! “Rohr hasn’t found a goalkeeper in 4 years lol!! Are you kidding me. Uzoho is a ball boy abi?? Okoye just fall from no where abi?? Alampasu is from a different planet or the new guy Yakubu that most of you called Zambisa 11 back then is not scouted properly abi?? Ok maybe we can call back Shorumu who only had Enyeama during his time as the goalkeeper trainer and produced a single goal tender for the National team except Agbim who had fled to oblivion since 2014. By the way how good was Ike during his prime for the SuperEagles?? At least Agu has scouted Uzoho, Okoye, Yakubu and the likes what has the others in the past scouted?? I remember during Keshi era Alampasu was forced on him yet he couldn’t drop fumbling Agbim for the promising youngster at the time. Until Rohr came in and called him up.
Yes we don’t need to moan what we don’t have, but bro’s I beg to ask you what don’t we have in this present SuperEagles that Eze will be the one to provide it for us?? The only player I need in the SuperEagles is a guy like Bukkayo Saka if he chooses Nigeria and an Ejaria who have played for Liverpool in the past not an Eze who is still not sure what he wants at almost 23 years of age. Jay-Jay was already a world class player at the age of 20 in USA 94. SuperEagles can and will never beg anybody to play for Nigeria and I don’t think is better than most of the options we have in midfield and on the wings at the moment. Maybe something can change I can’t predict the future, but at the moment I think we’re better off without him.
