Atletico Madrid coach Diego Simeone insists he isn’t bothered about the match officials for tomorrow’s clash with Real Madrid.
In a chat with TribalFootball, Simeone insisted that they must focus only on the game and opposition.
He said: “We are more concerned about the game, we have to leave the referee alone, he is a great referee, I think he is the first and he will be excited to do well like the footballers, we have to take care of ourselves and worry about having a great game.
“We are preparing it with enthusiasm.
“The opponent is very good, very strong, confident in what they do, they have resolved the important losses they have had, it will be tough and difficult like all of us who play against Real Madrid and from there we will have to carry the party where we believe we can hurt him.”
Simeone’s sons Giovanni, Gianluca, and Giuliano (from his first wife) are professional footballers, playing for Napoli, Tudelano and Alavés, respectively.
Simeone also has two daughters, Francesca and Valentina, with model Carla Pereyra. Simeone and Pereyra got married in secret in June 2019.
Style of management
Simeone’s preferred formation is the 4–4–2, which he first practised when he was manager of Estudiantes de la Plata in 2006.
In this formation, the two wingers move inside and act like attacking midfielders, creating space for the full backs and fluidity in the attack, effectively being a 4–2–2–2 when the team is on the offensive.
