La Liga Round 29 Preview: Celta Vigo And Villarreal To Meet In Relegation Six Pointer

Meanwhile, Atletico Madrid try to keep their title challenge alive away to Alaves, while Sevilla and Valencia lock horns

The 29th round of action in Spain’s La Liga could have far reaching consequences for several clubs. On Saturday afternoon (30 March) Celta Vigo host Villarreal with both clubs in real danger of relegation, while Atletico Madrid will hope to close the gap on Barcelona at the top of the table. On the Sunday afternoon, Sevilla host Valencia with both clubs trying to reach the top four.

First things first

Before you go any further, head on over to the Oddsshark website, find your favourite betting site and get your own account up and running using your credit card. As a new customer and with the La Liga campaign well over halfway through, there should be a wide range of promotions and special offers available to you.

Where should I be investing my money?

First up, let’s start with the relegation clash between Celta Vigo and Villarreal on Saturday afternoon. Celta have not won any of their last six league outings, losing five of those, and they sit third from bottom, four points from safety – they are now priced at just 1.66 to be relegated.

Villarreal, in stark contrast, have won their last four matches in a row across all competitions and look to be climbing away from danger, with a four point safety gap now between them and the bottom three. The Yellow Submarine are now out at 6.00 to fall through the trap door this term.

And while the betting is tight, it is Celta Vigo who come into this match as the favourites to take the points. You can more than double your money by backing the home side to win at 2.40, while Villarreal come in slightly higher at 2.87 – a draw would appear to be the least likely outcome and is priced accordingly at 3.30, according to Oddsshark.

But we are expecting Villarreal’s better recent form to give them the edge here. A narrow, 2-1 win for the visitors is priced competitively at 10.00, thereby offering a ten-fold return on any investment, while you can double your money by backing over 2.5 goals in the game at 2.00.

Atletico need all three points on the road

On the same day, Alaves host Atletico Madrid with both needing the win for differing reasons. Alaves are unbeaten in their last six league games and sit just two points outside the top four – they are priced at 11.00 to secure a top four finish this season.

Atletico Madrid, by way of comparison, have lost their last two matches across all competitions and are in danger of falling out of the title race. They are now out at 41.00 to win their first title in half a decade.

And it is Atletico who come into this match as the red hot favourites to pick up three vital points. You can back the visitors to win at just 1.75 while Alaves, despite home advantage, are out at 5.50 to do the same – a draw is priced in the middle at 3.40.

But we think that home advantage could well play a decisive factor in this fixture. A narrow, 1-0 win for Alaves also comes in at 10.00, meaning that a US$5 bet would lead to a US$50 pay out, while a combo bet of an Alaves win, coupled with a “No” to both teams scoring, is priced at 7.00.

Sevilla and Valencia meet in key clash

And finally, Sevilla and Valencia are set to lock horns on Sunday afternoon with both still hoping to break into the top four. Sevilla have won their last two league outings and sit just three points off the top four – they are priced at just 1.80 to make up that difference by the end of the season.

Valencia, meanwhile, are on a 10-game unbeaten run but a slow start to the season means they are down in seventh. Like Alaves, they are out at 11.00 to secure a top four finish come May.

Again, the betting is tight, but it is Sevilla who come in as the favourites to pick up the points. You can more than double your money by backing the home side to win at 2.05, while Valencia are out at 3.60 to do the same – a draw comes in just under at 3.50.

And we are expecting Sevilla to make it three league wins on the bounce. A 2-1 victory for the home side comes in at 8.50, while you can quadruple your money by backing a combo bet of a Sevilla win, coupled with both teams to score.
