La Liga: Sadiq In Action In Real Sociedad, Getafe Seven-Goal Thriller

Super Eagles striker, Umar Sadiq was in action as Real Sociedad defeated Getafe 4-3 in Sunday’s entertaining La Liga game.

Sadiq, who was making his sixth appearance in the league this ongoing season, is yet to register a goal.

Takefusa Kubo netted the opening goal for Real Sociedad in the second minute before Carles Alena and Borja Mayoral scored two quick goals to give Getafe the lead.

However, Mikel Oiarzabal, who replaced the Nigerian forward leveled parity in the 61st minute before Brais Mendez made it 3-2 for the host.

Oiarzabal grabbed his brace in the 88th minute to make it 4-2 before Juan Latasa netted for Getafe to make ot 4-3.

Early years

Born in Kaduna, Sadiq started playing football on the streets of his hometown at an early age. He later played for local team Kusa Boys,[3] before joining the Future of Africa Football Academy and finally the Football College Abuja.

In June 2013, Sadiq traveled with FCA to Croatia and participated at the Kvarnerska Rivijera youth tournament. He finished as the competition’s top scorer and helped his team become the champions.
