Ahead of his first official La Liga match back in charge of Real Madrid, José Mourinho expressed complete conviction that his squad would travel to face Espanyol at the RCDE Stadium with the absolute intent to return with all three points.
Mourinho noted that Espanyol started their campaign strongly with a comfortable 3-0 win, giving them an early three-point advantage over Real Madrid in the table.

He stressed that every opponent treats playing against Real Madrid as a massive event, warning his players that they will face immediate trouble if they fail to match that level of awareness and intensity from the opening minute.
The Portuguese tactician also noted that he feels positive adrenaline rather than pressure, showing total confidence in his players’ ambition and seriousness.
He confirmed that Endrick will miss the trip with a minor muscle injury, while Aurélien Tchouaméni will be eased in rather than start as he regains full match rhythm.
“I wouldn’t call it pressure; I’d call it adrenaline. It’s a positive thing. The day I don’t feel it, something’s not right. I don’t feel pressure, whether it’s for debuts or games. I have a lot of confidence in the work we’ve done,” Mourinho told the club’s website.

“A lot of confidence in the players’ ambition, their mindset, and the passion they show me. It’s a tough game, but tomorrow when we travel, we’ll do so with the conviction that we’ll come back with the three points.
“There are many ways to look at it. The only way to be pragmatic is to focus on results. We can improve a lot on many levels, build up the structure, and there’s a lot that needs to change, but results are what count.
“We have three competitions plus a small one. Finishing without any trophies at Real Madrid is not a successful season. “
