Ligue 2: Maja Bags Brace In Bordeaux’s Draw Away, Takes League Tally To 10

Josh Maja continued his superb scoring form as he bagged a brace in Bordeaux’s 2-2 draw at Caen, in the French Ligue 2 on Tuesday night,
Completesports.com reports.

Maja’s brace took his tally in the second-tier division to 10.

He gave Bordeaux the lead as early as the 4th minute before making it 2-0 in the 25th minute.

The 24-year-old leads the top scorers standing and is two goals ahead of Côte d’Ivoire striker Jean-Philippe Krasso who is second.

Also, he has found the back of the net four times in his last three games in all competitions for Bordeaux.

In the 52nd minute Caen pulled a goal back through Alexandre Mendy while Bordeaux were reduced to 10 men following Clement Michelin’s sending off.

With eight minutes left Caen completed the comeback thanks to Ali Abdi.

But all hopes of snatching the winner by Caen was dashed as they also had a player sent off after Court was shown a straight red.

The draw means Bordeaux in second place (on 32 points) in the league table, missed the opportunity to close the gap on leaders Le Havre (on 39 points).

    So Happy for this lad…
     Now we have…
    Osimhen
    Moffi
    Onuachu
    Dessers
    Awoniyi
    Maja
    Akpom
    Sadiq
    Iheanacho… to pick from.
It’s only that we can only pick 3 in the 23 or 26 list of players.
    Pick your 3.
    Mine is…
Osimhen, Moffi and Onuachu for now… Akpom can be added as an Offensive or supporting striker.

Osimene, Dessers n Isaac. This is, as it concerns national team football. Always a big mistake to see national team football through the lenses of club football. I have said this many many times n still saying, for it has been proven over n over again.
We may have to give Akpom n Maja n any other debutant good enough minutes in friendlies to see if they can displace Dessers n Isaac. Dessers may not be scoring for Club but he has shown he can be deadly playing for the national team. To me, Dessers is the closest to Osimene in SE, just need a bit of trust from the gaffer.

If selection of the top 3 strikers is based on a combination of all round display, performance against top teams and top defenders, and goals. The top 3 SE strikers are
    1. Osimhen
    2. Moffi
    3. Awoniyi

    Worthy of mention: Balogun.

    • You guys have started claiming balogun, has balogun agreed to play for Nigeria?
Untill the guy openly say so, we should not count our chicken before the eggs hatch.
