LION-HEARTED! Ibrahimovic Tests Positive For Covid-19, But Mocks Dreaded Virus

AC Milan have confirmed that veteran striker, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, has tested positive for Covid-19 , and is presently self-isolating at home, but The Lion is unruffled, boldly mocking the dreaded virus for having ‘courage challenge me’, Completesports.com reports.

The 38 year old Swede’s Coronavirus positive status was confirmed following second round of swab testing on Milan players ahead of their tonight’s Europa League qualifying match against Norwegian side, FK Bodo/Glimt, at the San Siro.

Ibrahimovic is the only player whose test returned positive. And he has been excluded from the Milan squad for the match against Bodo/Glimt.

“Zlatan Ibrahimović has tested positive for Covid-19 following a second round of swab tests ahead of tonight’s game against Bodo/Glimt. The Club has informed the relevant authorities and the player has been promptly placed in quarantine at home. All other team members and staff have tested negative,” an official statement on AC Milan website confirmed.

Meanwhile, Ibrahimovic who prides himself as The Lion, also personally confirmed his Coronavirus status on Thursday, and mocked the dreaded virus with a Tweet on his Twitter platform.

“I tested negative to Covid yesterday and positive today. No symptoms what so ever. Covid had the courage to challenge me. Bad idea,” an unruffled Ibrahimovic tweeted.

The striker’s Tweet instantly attracted the attention of thousands of his fans from across the globe . The sympathetic fans urged him on, to go ahead and defeat the virus.

Ibrahimovic rejoined Milan in January as a free agent after seeing off his contract with MLS side, LA Galaxy. And he been a very resourceful striker for the Stefano Pioli’s team.

He scored 10 goals in 18 matches to help Milan finish sixth in the 2019/2020 Serie A. And he has started the 2020/21 campaign on an explosive note, netting double in Milan 2-0 win against Bologna.
