We change goalkeeper, we concede goal. Na wa o.

    • Bomboy 5 years ago

You are not watching the game. If you were, you wouldn’t blame the goal keeper.

      • Adewuyi Olaosenikan 5 years ago

@Bomboy,Ezenwa went down too early. Stats don’t lie. 2 games 0 goal conceded for Akpeyi, half a game, 1 goal for Ezenwa.
        Let us stop worshipping Mediocrity.

        • Frank 5 years ago

It’s obvious you have personal issues with Ezenwa. He’s not faulty about the first goal in anyways

  • Footballfanatic 5 years ago

    What is wrong with Mikel?

  • Footballfanatic 5 years ago

Good thing we concedednso it can open our eyes…

  • That was a Balogun error

  • Ara Nkita 5 years ago

    Calamity Balogun.
    Absent minded…

    • I remembered before the tournament, I clamoured for Omeruo to break the oyinbo wall monopoly….

  • Bomboy 5 years ago

The market value of Ndidi is more than the whole Madagascar team combined. We better win this game. No excuses.

  • Prince 5 years ago

    Common Super Eagles !!!!
    Let’s go !!!

  • Footballfanatic 5 years ago

Mikel is not fit at all and for Balogun, every defender has a mishap sometimes..

  • Sunnyb 5 years ago

John Ogu and Mikel are playing their last game for super Eagles, dropping Ajayi was a big mistake

    • Greenturf 5 years ago

I clamoured for Azubuike Okechukwu who had a fantastic season

  • Which site do we watch this match?

  • We change goalkeeper and we conceded. Mikel is done for christ sake why is he still playing for the national team

  • Stephen Boluwade 5 years ago

The field is terrible plus Mikel playing rubbish so far.

  • onwajunior 5 years ago

    Mike oh!!!

  • Folorunso 5 years ago

Anyone to share the link to see this match?

  • Omo9ja 5 years ago

You guys can watch the match on Feed4u. God bless Nigeria!!

  • Ara Nkita 5 years ago

    I like this squad rotation.
We can now see that some players have no stake in this team.

  • Sunnyb 5 years ago

That goal was a defensive back pass error from slow and lazy John Ogu, Anyway they  need to up their game Madagascar wouldn’t be a walkover, John Ogu and Mikel killing the midfield, so they dropped ajayi for these guys lolllllll

    • Footballfanatic 5 years ago

I think Ogu was just included in this team for his loyalty and commitment. I can’t for sure say that he is better than Semi Ajayi.

      • Bomboy 5 years ago

Taking players to a major tournament because of their loyalty instead of their value and skill is not a very wise move as you can see!

        • Footballfanatic 5 years ago

Ledt to me I would’ve taken Ajayi with what I’m seeing lol.

        • Patrick 5 years ago

the day of reckoning has come. mediocrity can never bring excellence.

  • Larry 5 years ago

Dropping Semi Ajayo for lazy and sluggish Ogu is a crime to football.

    • Ara Nkita 5 years ago

Some people here usually praise Ogu to high heavens….

The simple fact is that we just have average, over-hyped and over-pampered players…

With what I’ve seen so far in this tournament, I can’t beat my chest we will go further.

I told you guys there are no more minnows in football, not to talk of our poor team.

We have few talented folks but no team work.

Watching Cameroon vs Ghana yesterday, I became more fearful.

I think I’ll lower my expectation henceforth.

I don’t want to drink sniper biko.

  • Peterside Udah 5 years ago

Elder Omo9ja, O wise one, you pre-warned us of doom days like this.

Imagine, Nigeria losing to Madagascar. National embarrassment.

    Rohr has failed.

Don’t you worry. Ayphilly and Dr Drey will come to acknowledge the error of their ways.

Their treachery will flush them out. You remain our personal football analysis saviour.

    • Greenturf 5 years ago

Patient we are not losing this game.
      Mikel and Ogu are struggling.
We might do with a couple of fresh players in the second half

      • Peterside Udah 5 years ago

Comrade, let’s hope you are right. Even if we turn this around, the overall performance is far from impressive thus far.

  • Xxxxxxxplay 5 years ago

It’s obvious we don’t have a coach that’s ambitious and the earlier nuff cancel his contract and get a seasoned coach

  • Lord AMO 5 years ago

So far this has been a completely rubbish first half performance.  That’s 3 games in a row now so this might be a pattern.  Its becoming clear that Mikel is not up to this and ogu has heen a disaster thus far.  I give him 70% of the blame for such a useless pass inside your box.  Ighalo should focus on staying on his feet and playing the ball instead of flopping at every opportunity.  Lets see what changes are made in the second half but so far im unimpressed

  • But is this a conspiracy by the referees I am seeing in this tournament so far. The players have been very rough. I mean what’s all this pushing and shoving. I have watched almost all the countries play, it’s appalling. Anyways, Mikel is a big problem. little or no attacking options going forward. I don’t know why Nigeria cannot play intelligent football. Bring Musa out, Mikel out pls

  • Ayphillydegreat 5 years ago

Etebo is the only player holding the midfield Ogu, Mikel and Ighalo may be playing their last game for the SuperEagles. The back pass from Ogu to Balogun was ridiculous to say the list, but Balogun should’ve done better by at least clear the ball. Some changes will be made let’s see how they react.

  • Sunnyb 5 years ago

I warned them in this forum several times that all pretenders would be exposed in Egypt, imagine Madagascar exposing the great super Eagles, Madagascar goalie was not tested for 45minutes, Ighalo was busy falling down, old Mikel and sluggish Ogu were busy putting our defense under pressure with their back passes. All is not lost we can still redeem ourselves by bringing in fresh legs

  • Xxxxxxxxxplay 5 years ago

The implication of this rubbish play by eagles is that it will drain their confidence while it gives our opponent impetus to beat us

  • Ridiculous first half. Absolutely nothing to write about. Can;t believe the display from the super eagles who are playing against mostly division 3 players. Those clamoring for mikel can clearly see that he is not the same player we know. Ogu am sorry needs to retire. The midfield needs to be jelled with better players. Ighalo to me is better off coming from the bench

  • Rohr is not a coach. Mikel is gone,Ogu lacked bite, Ighalo is rusty. What is Onyekuru doing on the bench? Nigeria will win.

  • Proudly 9ja 5 years ago

Wow, it this sambisa 11 or super eagles? I still don’t get why the coach keeps playing mukel as an attacking midfielder, his role has always been as a defensive midfielder hence d reason why he is always coming back to get d ball. Play him and etebo in d defensive midfield if d coach intends not to use ndidi for d entire 90 mins. Bring in onyekyru for Musa. Bring in Samu to play d attacking midfield role if d coach intends on resting iwobi. To me this is an ideal match for onuachu to use his height and body frame to deal with d defenders who concurrently has igalo in dia pockets as they look stronger and bigger than him. Bring in onuachu for igalo. 9ja should easily win dis match. Balogun doesn’t seem to be in d mood today as his passes are wayward and he looks nervous after the blunder he caused but dis tins happen in football, he lost concentration there as he wanted he ball to roll past his body as a means of shielding d ball but d ball was a lil slow and d attacker intercepted it and d rest as dey say is history. We are winning this game by 2:1.

  • Ighalo is only a flash in the pan. No contribution to the overall play, just falling up and down. Poor ball controls, near near miss all the time. I am fed up right now. We have been optimistic but let’s face reality this time. This team goes no where with this kind of purposeless unintelligent football. Nobody should come for me o cos it won’t be funny.

  • Chairmanfemi 5 years ago

Do you all know why we are loosing presently??

I do talk about the BAD/EVIL JINX about this jersey! This jersey is evil. Check all the matches we’ve played with it right from it launching at the World Cup. It’s either the jersey gets us eliminated or we loose.

  • Sunnyb 5 years ago

Bro, I thought I was the only one that noticed that stupid back pass from Ogu, but guess what most people would blame Balogun knowing Nigerians , Balogun would be roasted in social media,Ogu, Mikel and Ighalo are really playing their last game

  • Omo9ja 5 years ago

This is what happens when you are playing against an organized team. They have a game plan and if we keep playing like this in the second have, Madagascar will win.

Musa is a smart guy. Why convating players? Every coach does that but I don’t buy that idea. Use the players in their positions. I won’t blamed Musa for that.

That referee doesn’t like Nigeria. Whenever he’s in charge of Nigeria match, he will make sure he does everything possible to put Super Eagles down.

However, I said this earlier this morning, if our opponents scored us first, how can we fight back? We can see clearly that this current the has no game plan. No direction. It’s not about hate. This is the truth. Let’s see how it’s end.

The service of Iwobi, Onuachu, Chukwueze, Onyekuru are needed in this match. I’m comparing this match to a world cup qualifier against Zambia.

This Madagascar team are not better than us but they have one thing that is troubling us in this match. They came in into the game to frustrate our team.

Where is Ayphillydegreat? You can see now that Oga na master? Stop the hates and against me and gba fun Oga ę.

I believed we can still win the match because we have what it takes to win the match. With God and right tactics from coach Rohr, all things are possible. God luck Super Eagles. God bless Nigeria!!!

    • Peterside Udah 5 years ago

My master, you are now vindicated. Nigeria 0, Madagascar 2.

I was right to put all my faith in you.

The other clandestines will come round to your way of reasoning.

    • That’s Omo9ja himself.
I think people should now learn. Fact is everyone has their strengths,so many people can’t analyze our matches clearly without being affected by emotions.
It was clear the SEagles had not clicked, the football has been poor overall.Or in truth, how was our last match? Some of us have only been hoping that they would improve, not that there were no inexcusable flaws.
Omo9ja has been calling a spade a spade,o yes he sounds extreme at times, but it’s clear that he makes a lot of sense overall. Rohr doesn’t have an excuse that is tenable o. He has been with this team long enough.
      Abeg give Omo9ja respect jor.

  • Game Over for me

  • Proudly 9ja 5 years ago

70th min and d coach still has igalo in and onyekuru, chukwueze, osimen, and onuachu are still on d bench, coach really?

    • I have not seen any intelligent midfield coordination with attack in this tournament. They are just playing secondary school ball.

  • Sunnyb 5 years ago

Who do we blame now the coach or the players ? Over to your guys

    • Footballfanatic 5 years ago

Foolish coach that has talent that madagascar wish they had and some blame to players like Ighalo, musa, Mikel, and Ogu

    • Bomboy 5 years ago

We can’t blame the coach. He has too many worshipers in this forum whom would eat you raw if you dare.

Don’t forget he qualified us for the 2nd round and many other competitions with a game to spare lolz

      • Bomboy it is so painful that the Nigerian fans like you know who in this forum and coach Rohr has sabotaged us

        • Footballfanatic 5 years ago

I think he purposely sabotaged us so Madagascar could beat us. Why not bring in Onyekuru and for those people sreaming with one game to spare, what should Westerhof and Bonfere jo do?

    • Fqtee 5 years ago

I owe @Olu an apology… The eagles have been poor and Rohr got it tactically wrong today….

    • Coach bros. He is just cluless. When you drop better players for mediocre players,

  • Am sorry but this coach is clueless. Why bring on simon when chukwueze is on the bench. He played very well and i believe he would have broken this Madagascar team. Musa look so tired, no pace. The glory days of the Eagles are gone.

  • I raised reservations about Coach Rohr’s brand of football the other day.

    Let’s hope things improve.

  • I have not seen any intelligent midfield coordination with attack in this tournament. They are just playing secondary school ball.

  • Wettin Onyekuru do this Bastard Rohr. Anyway God will surely vindicate Onyekuru. If I am Henry I no go ahonour call up as long as this ass hole is still the coach

  • Footballfanatic 5 years ago

Reapect to Madagascar. They completely neutralized us….we had no meaningful attack. Lesson for the round of 16 ot we’d be coming gone early.

  • Now I know…even d commentators said that Madagascar had against us is self belief. On this forum so many ppl condemned the lack of confidence our stupid coach fostered on his players but others felt he was only being modest. Now we can c. If Madagascar can come with self belief and beat us, Nigeria with so much names cannot create a single shot on target. It’s just too bad. I am broken

  • Stopper 5 years ago

Guys d coach no come from Madagascar? una want mek dem revoke him citizenship? The coach yab for dis wan guys, tactically him get am wrong today big time. him no scout dis team at all and him no even know d strength of him team. Is his last name Aigboun lol

    Horrible performance

  • Peterside Udah 5 years ago

Today belongs to Elder Omo9ja. To all his detractors, eat your hearts out.

    🙂 🙂 🙂

  • Sunnyb 5 years ago

Rohr is really toying with our emotions why would this man plays Ighalo for 90 minutes. Sorry I forgot Rohr is the best coach in the world he can’t do no wrong.

  • Chudynak 5 years ago

Heading for a national embarrassment. It is clear this our team as well as the coach is unintelligent. Any team that wins matches with lone goals and falls like pack of cards whenever it concedes first is not worthy to be champions.

  • And what is Simon doing on the field. The other day we thought he was brought on for defensive purposes but are we defending again today? WY did he take onyekuru, and co without using them. What is Musa and ighalo doing on d field till 90th min.
This is sad. A poor coach is our undoing. We have ourselves to blame

  • Walking 5 years ago

All I can say is uhm…

  • Deo, Dr Dre, Oakfield all of unaI hope you are now happy you have sabotaged us with your coach Rohr I hope you are all happy now. Clap for yourselfs

    • Funny annalysers are not here to analise our foolish of a coach we have. A learner who siasia will beat with a flying eagles team who is do dull headed with is stupid assistants. He have stupid likeness for players just for personal reasons. Musa and victor moses took him these far and we think he is a magictian. I said many times azubuike won the caf award as most tilented young player he will be a good replacement for onazi which we are mixing now ok instead of mikel why not kelechi nwakali these are natural midlers with eagles vision. Etebo is not a miffielder he is a playmaker he is a 8 or winger siasia didnt play him in the midfield at olympic and he scored 4 goals in a match why is he now a blocking 4.? How can u have osihmen in the bench for ighalo or unuacho a. Osihme scored three goals to return nigeria to olympic contention. He scores in every training match yet u kept him he is the aghahuwa that could change the attack.. onyekuru? Where did he go wrong after winning turk title as a best player of his team. I think rohr is a rogue. I need to discribe him like patrick obayangbon will do in an interview

  • Ara Nkita 5 years ago

Its unfortunate we will be meeting either Ghana or Benin.

    Na here our journey end.

The coach made a poor team selection and the changes were whack.

People should stop praising Genort Rhor.

He’s just an average coach….No difference from Africa coaches.

This team has been below par since this tournament.

Goals seem to have dried up.

Ighalo should please be sent home.

  • the final wistle blown madagasa 2 and rohr0 very good

  • Proudly 9ja 5 years ago

Na black stars we go meet next but on d account of dis performance it will be tuff but I have faith in d 9ja fighting spirit and we will carry d day but d coach as to get his tactics and subs perfect to have a chance of winning as Ghana go come play taekwondo dat day

  • Tunnie 5 years ago

Gernot Rohr is clueless. If after 3 years with this team he still can’t give us a team that’ll play with purpose it’s obvious we should do away with his services.

  • Footballfanatic 5 years ago

Win or lose this coach has to go…

  • Xhuxhu 5 years ago

Omo9ja been dey talk am oh..Madagascar oh..When we meet the likes of Ghana,Egypt, Cameroon what will happen? It is very obvious this team lacks creativity, a fourth Tier French team coach has opened our nyash..Rohr, couldn’t find a way to score just a goal against Madagascar..2ND round will be very painful for us the fans.
I don’t see why Mikel should be at this AFCON..we should’ve gone with more young players, the team will corroborate with Rohr’s constant report that the team is a young team.
On the Overall, it has been an underwhelming AFCON for 9ja and NFF has not helped matters.

  • Footballfanatic 5 years ago

Players that shouldn’t have been at this Afcon — Ogu, Mikel, and ……. Half fit Iheanachi and Ajayi would’ve been better.

  • Everybody this has happened and I think it’s hightime we stop the sabotagers from this forum. They know themselves

  • It was obvious from the first game that something isn’t right with this team of ours.it’s high time we realize we have average players who can do better under the guidance of a better technically sound coach not Rohr who doesn’t believe in hitself. NFF wake up now and relieve this man of his duties. Nigeria is too big of a country for Gernot Rohr.

  • Sunnyb 5 years ago

All Rohr supporters should man up apologize to all Nigerians for today’s embarrassment, this Game was lost due to tactical blunders by the coach. Playing two old slow midfielders against a very young and mobile team and playing Ighalo and Musa for 90minutes was clearly tactical errors. Before the tournament is said all pretenders would be exposed.

  • Glory 5 years ago

Good game. Respect to Madagascar. They played compact defense n quick attack. It worked for them. But I m happy for this, because it’s gonna bring out d best from d SE going into d knock out stages. Truth is, it’s a blessing in disguise. Now Rohr must realise Mikel, definitely no disrespect to his service to d national team, was a mistake bringing him back into d team. Mikel look lost in this team. Also Rohr made a monumental mistake of changing a winning team, a sign he under-rated Madagascar. History has always proven that changing winning team always produce a negative result. Again, Rohr has to realise that in d absence of good combination play to score goals which this team lacks, individual ability should be encouraged n this is where players like Chukweze must be unleashed on all our next opponents. This things happen in football, so won’t blame or condemn the coach or any player. The coach had good intentions to give fringe players a chance but sad it backfired. The two goals conceded had a hand of luck in them. Just wasn’t Nigeria’s day, as we got it wrong from beginning; EVEN WEARING THAT ‘SAME GREEN N GREEN JERSEY’.

    • Everybody this has happened and I think it’s hightime we stop the sabotagers from this forum. They know themselves. This is sad. Also why can’t the coach be reached that’s sad we can’t suggest. Why is Onyekuru on the bench all the time. Why does Musa always start ahead of more talented players????????

      • Glory 5 years ago

@Ugo. I feel your anger if I must be honest. But I see these guys, Oyekuru n Chukweze, lightning up this tournament soon. I felt ds same way in 1994 when Westerhof kept Amunike on d bench till we got to d finals. Let’s not make d job any harder for the coaches. There is time to support a team n time to condemn. I ll only condemn a coach if his team eventually gets knocked out but will continue to support while positively analysing grey areas till then.

  • Patrick 5 years ago

Failure is the product of mediocrity.

  • Pompei 5 years ago

A wake up call for Nigeria.
Looks like it is Mrs. Rohr that will be taking Mr. Rohr out to a placatory dinner tonight.

  • Everybody that has defended this coach has a point and people like Omo9ja that have crucified him for so long also have a point.
It is very evident that the whole Nigerian players are not serious. Certainly, some players really do not have a business in this team. Anwaziem, Mikel, Ighalo, Ogu, all the 3 keepers are just taking the places of other more reliable players. Consistency is what makes good players stand out. I’m sorry, the entire Nigerian players lack consistency and that is why they fail to go far in competitions.
It is Rohr’s stubbornness that will kill him. He is a rigid coach who is not ready to be flexible. He is not ready to giver other keepers a chance in the super eagles and he is not ready to give other midfielders a chance in the team. He continues to stick with Ighalo even when Ighalo is not performing.
Many people like me may criticize Omo9ja for his excessive complaint about Rohr’s ways of doing things. However, this match has shown that Omo9ja is right about Rohr’s refusal to allow competition in the super eagles.
Like I have said, it is Rohr’s stubbornness that will kill him and at the end of the day Omo9ja will be proved right because of Rohr’s refusal to do what is right. This lack of competition in the super eagles being perpetrated by Rohr will blow up in his face and at the end of the day both his supporters and enemies will demand for his head.
Is is not a shame that Nigeria could not score a single goal against Madagascar! Rohr and the entire super eagles players need to do a soul searching.

  • My take on this match.

Nigeria underrated them and as we felt we had qualified, what was the worse that could happen?

Playing against an organised team like this, it is always best to make sure they don’t score you first. We allowed them score first and that perfected their game plan of letting the super eagles see enough of the ball and waiting for a mistake to pounce on.

If super eagles needed this match to qualify, Madagascar wouldn’t have won this match. If by any chance we meet them again as the tournament progresses, it’ll be a different ball game entirely.

The Madagascar team had a game plan that simply worked for them, they didn’t play any amazing football. One thing they have is that they are good at taking their chances.

    • My friend shut up dere abeg Shut your mouth dammit

    • I agree with you that they didn’t play anything amazing. But isn’t it worrisome that our defenders make two costly mistakes that led to the 2 goals. How about Nigeria not having good set piece takers? So, if we can’t breakdown an organized Madagascar team, what will happen if we meet stronger teams like Egypt, Morocco,, Ghana, or Cameroon?
The players showed lack of seriousness in this match and it was very clear in their approach to this game. I also think it is high time we started pointing out Rohr’s excesses and wrong doing. , if not, we might be in for a rude shock in this nations cup.

      • Egypt, Cameroun, Ghana won’t play negative football. It’ll be easier to play them because it’ll be an open affair.

Don’t ever let a team that plays negative football score you first, or else you are done for.

The coach himself sold this match to his in laws with a very wrong approach and the players came into the match with an underrating mindset and poor attitude.

    • daniel 5 years ago

NFF pay players match bounses, them don show una say them dey vex

  • No team will ever be taken seriously the way Nigeria plays at the moment.check this out guys, 1 shot on target. That is abysmal. Something is chronically wrong. This team lacks poise, panache, gait and technical prowess. Going forward we lack confidence and it’s become a psychological fear. All thanks to coach rhor. Posterity will judge

  • Onyekuru a top player in Turkey champions Chukwueze and players like this have not been given a fair chance. In this squad why is Musa so untouchable in Rohrs squad why did Ighalo play all 90 mins why has Onyekuru not kicked a ball this entire tournament all these are questions this coach has to answer granted Omeruo and Ndidi not starting Made a big impact how can Kalu a player that has not played club football since Jan start ahead of Chukwueze and how can Musa start ahead Of Onyekuru in a game tht was meant for Onyekuru to get match fit. Absolutely unacceptable from the coach

  • Ndubuisi 5 years ago

Hard way is the only way out now as we may likely meet Ghana or Cameroon in the last 16. Nigeria can surprise you when you have written them off. Its really a sad evening for all. To me this lost is a wake up call and came at the right time. Coach Mr Rohr should learn one or two things from this match. If ogu was not used and we lost many would have blamed the coach for not using him. I think chukwueze started well in the first match and should be considered. Oga Mikel please your time is over and I don’t expect to see you in our next game. No more mistake. Ghana or Cameroon will open up the game and we can do some damage. Congratulations to Madagascar for playing real good and exposing our weakness. Don’t write this Super Eagles off yet a surprise awaits us in the last 16. Cheer up everyone and be positive

  • When I saw the lineup had Ogu, Mikel, Ighalo and Ezenwa, I became sceptical. One would have played Onyekuru, Osimhen, Chukwueze etc. We really had nothing to lose. The Nigerian web space is already messed up/saturated presently with the Timi, his wife and COZA cacophony, now this??? I can’t deal abeg.

Up up up up omo9ja…up up up omo9ja…hahahahaha hahahahaha hahahahaha up up up super chickens

  • Ayphillydegreat 5 years ago

The Truths: Oyinbo wall shattered, Mikel at an End time Ogu should never come anywhere near the SuperEagles after this tournament.  Chukwueze is better than ALL our wingers, how is he not playing??? Ighalo is not going to deliver in this AFCON. I thought Osimhen or Onuachu should’ve started the game.

The 5 changes to the lineup affected the team. I’m not losing confidence in the team yet and I owe no body any apology for today’s loss because we haven’t crashed out of the tournament yet. Most of the people now crying are the ones complaining that the coach should make changes and give other players a chance.
I thought Onyekuru should’ve played this game. It was obvious that we underrated Madagascar and they surprised us. Rohr made a mistake by not sticking to his winning team. That is a massive lesson going forward which should keep us on our toes. No body ever claimed that the SuperEagles are going to win the AFCON. Fact remains we didn’t qualify for the last two AFCON so reaching the knockout stage is an achievement in itself

I’m glad this happened now. Of course there will be a lot soul searching heading into the knockout as we will most likely play Ghana which going to be a tough game. VAMOS ARRIBA SUPEREAGLES!!!

  • Sunnyb 5 years ago

To all victor Moses haters u guys can take a bow for him now, this team can’t score no creativity, no bite  only one shot at target against Madagascar, still Rohr kept Ighalo and Musa on pitch, no  onyekuru no Osimhen.

  • @Ndubuisi…thank you very much.
    There’s always time for correction.
Mikel is Slow, Ogu is Slow, Etebo is Heavy but the best among the three…that was the first error we made in this game because…all our previous games were won from the midfield.

  • Pompei 5 years ago

When Nigeria won her first two games, I waited to hear from the Rohr haters. They were nowhere to be found. Today, Nigeria lost a “dead rubber” game. A game that has no significance, as we had already qualified from the group. And voila! The Rohr haters are now coming out of the woodwork! Yes, Nigeria lost today due to tactical errors. Our players huffed and puffed, but poor tactics was their undoing. Also, this SUPER ATTACK that we thought we had – looks like it exists only on paper! To go thru 90 minutes without really testing the Madagascar goalie is unacceptable. Having said that, Madagascar executed their game plan to near perfection. But the Barea were also very fortunate. The two goals they scored came with huge slices of fortune. Going forward, we must place emphasis on DEFENSE, as this is the foundation on which any possible success for us will be built. The 3-5-2 system looks like the optimal system for this bunch. Even if we decide to go with a back four, we need to still focus on defense. Soak up pressure from the opponent, and hit them on the counter. We just don’t have the creativity or the ruthless finishing ability going forward. So playing attacking football will not work. It will rather make us vulnerable to swift counter attacks.
Regarding Rohr, I say let us see where we end up first. Until then, sheath your swords. After the competition, win or lose, then Rohr’s fate will be decided. Until then, as fans, we MUST support the coach and the team……TO THE END.

@Pompei, please do remember that I mentioned that our two previous wins were nothing to over celebrate and I was shouted down by Oakfield and co.

We don’t criticise for the fun of it. I love the coach, but I am not so blinded that can’t see his flaws. Moreover, you just admitted that our attack is only good on paper, so why are you against those who knew all along and voiced it?

      • Pompei 5 years ago

Bomboy, so what do you suggest we do now? Cut off the coach’s head because he lost a dead rubber game? Did we kill the coaches that failed to qualify us for Afcon in the past two editions? Now we want to kill Rohr over this game, even though we have qualified from the group? I do appreciate your civility though. hanks for your mature comment. UGO IMBECILE IWUNZE will do well to borrow a page from your book, and learn how to act with maturity and class!

        • Ayphillydegreat 5 years ago

Nice reply @pompei. I like your vigor in replying that asshole called Ugo Ibanuje Oriburuku iwunze. Why did he ignore my comment??? When he lost a bet on bet9ja then he come here to vent his miserable life frustrations. Why are you facing pompei?? And you met your match here idiot bloody ethnic jingoist.

          • Pompei 5 years ago

UGO IBANUJE OLORIBURUKU IWUNZE! LMAO! The name fit am die! 🙂 🙂 🙂

    • Pompei 5 years ago

Hehehehehe! Ugo Iwunze, the imbecile awakens! So you learned a new word today, abi? Motherfu&%$?
Your toilet mouth is really amazing. Nigeria lost the match today. But we will bounce back. Insult me all you like, but I will not change my opinion because of an irrelevant, imbecilic nonentity like you!

      • @pompei if I am a imbecile you are a blinded cow who only comments for the fun of it a typical crook who sees wrong and says it is right you are the type who will see crime and keep quite because you were bribed a low life scumbag and I will not waste my voice on you. When the time comes you will be impeached along with you Bastard coach rohr

        • Pompei 5 years ago

Crawl back into the rat hole you came from, you foolish idiot. Haba! Is it a crime to have an opinion different from yours! Especially with you being so unintelligent and stupid? When Rohr was succeeding, qualifying us to tournaments with a game to spare,
you closed up your filthy mouth. Now, he lost a game, and you are jumping up and down like a moron. What have you achieved in your profession? Are you as successful as Rohr? He is not your mate, in any way! Show some respect, you fool! Even if Rohr makes a mistake, their are civilised ways to go about setting matters straight. Your foolishness and stupidity no get part two, for real. Get a life, fool!

    • Pompei 5 years ago

Please remove Chima E Samuels from your list. He is far more noble and reasonable than you will ever be, you impudent fool. Don’t spoil his name and reputation by associating him with your stupid self!

    • You want to sincerely say you at least didn’t hear Omo9ja? What are you you saying na. Yet that’s one name out of several others who sounded the alarm after the first two victories.Haba!

And it’s you who even coin the name “haters”. If I say you are not doing something well@ Pompei, doesn’t mean I hate you. Don’t be quick to do name calling. A lot of these guys who sounded the alarm are not haters, they analysed without bias, but many rebuffed them, esp because Nigeria won the matches.
I think this episodes should bring us togeda and help us give respect to who it is due.

super eagles have no good coach. right now i contact with the nff and call for his sack, they must do that immediately after this tournament.

  • prince 5 years ago

Mikel obi, samuel kanu, john ogu have no business absolutely in that team.

  • Ololo 5 years ago

    My take

We lacked understand.. Rohn is paying so much attention to social media.as a good coach you do what is right and not what the public desires.. He is becoming too predictable. Everybody knew he was going to play Mikel, ogu and balogu today and he did.

He couldn’t make the right changes because he had to bring ndidi and iwobi in place of ogu and Mikel respectively that’s wasting two substitution already.. He surely underrated Madagascar and did what everyone predicted.. Even the Madagascar coach knew he would make the chances.

Our fullbacks were not in this match. It showed awaziem and aino are not in their natural positions.awaziem in particular doesn’t offer any attacking threat.. We need Collins badly for our next match to bring stability to our play.
Finally I would say this lose is eye opener. It has shown beyond reasonable doubt that Mikel’s time is over same with ogu. Ighalo should also be benched for a younger striker. Kalu is also not looking so sharp. Samuel chukweze is far better..
Lets all calm down and not forget Madagascar were the first to qualify for afcon. They are truly a good side

    • Ndubuisi 5 years ago

Supported we need Collins badly to take over the left back so that Aina should go to the right. Omerue is expected back to stabilise the central defense. Ndidi should continue his partnership with etebo, we will manage Iwobi in attacking midfield though he’s not the best and very inconsistent. I still go with musa cos he shows up in big games then igalo and chukwueze, onyekuru and osimhen can lighten up things in 2nd half. We still have opportunity to make amends. Ghana if we meet them are not fantastic too and is anybody’s game.

  • Sunnyb 5 years ago

@pompei, follow follow people like u are the reason Nigeria is in deep shit today, people like you supported Buhari guess what,Fulani colonization and Ruga settlement is real, is good to be an independent thinker, most Nigerians are like sheep without shepherds. Calling people with opposing views haters clearly show how shallow minded u are, dissenting opinions is the beauty of democracy, supporting Rohr blindly would never help our soccer grow, hope u and ur follow follow crowds are happy with today’s embarrassment due tactical blunders by almighty Rohr

    • Pompei 5 years ago

Sunnyb, if supporting the coach and the team while they are still in the tournament, and have not yet been eliminated, makes me a follow follow person, well that is your opinion. In my opinion, that is what fans do. In the premiership, when teams get relegated, see the way the fans clap and show appreciation for the team. It is not that they enjoy losing. No. They are just showing their support, in good times or bad. Sunnyb, your comment shows that you are a FAIR WEATHER FAN. Only supporting the team when things are good. When things go south, you jump ship. I would rather have a follow follow person behind me, than a spineless, disloyal person like you, who supports me when I’m doing well, and condemns me as soon as I fail! Nigeria may very well still win this Afcon. If that happens, these nincompoops will come here to claim credit! Win or lose, we will decide his fate after the tournament. Until then, let us support the team!

      • Ayphillydegreat 5 years ago

Thank you @pompei. You are a true fan. We all know SunnyB on this forum. He’s a FAIR WEATHER FAN as you rightly put it. Only to come here to support the team when they’re are winning, then start displaying his personal life frustrations on the team and the coach when we lose irrelevant games. He was the one always clamoring for the coach to make changes. He’s always in the dressing room with Rohr to suggest who should be replaced and what not.

        • Pompei 5 years ago

Ayphillydegreat, thanks sir. I was really surprised by Sunnyb’s comment. If it was Ugo Imbecile Iwunze that made that comment, no surprises there. I have come to expect calamitous madness every time Ugo the imbecile Iwunze opens his toilet hole of a mouth. I guess Sunnyb is upset. We all are. I’m am perhaps the most upset in this forum today. However, we can’t throw the baby out with the bathwater, because the water is dirty! We the true fans will continue to support Rohr and the team. We are Nigeria. We can do this. Win or lose, we stand by our team. After the competition, then we can talk about Rohr’s fate. Until then, we march ever forward!

Guys do u think the financial dispute played a part in d outcome of today’s match? I don’t wanna blif so as these guys are professionals and this isn’t the 1st time d NFF is owing players, not that am encouraging such action but I still think it may have a small role albeit minimal impact. Moving forward I blif players like azubuike, k.nwakali (we can’t use only one poor match to judge d guy otherwise igalo shouldn’t be anywhere near d team after world cup), bonaventure (to compete with iwobi in dat creative position). Another thing that is boggling my mind is our constant need to play 2 defensive midfielder against all teams regardless of dia strength (ndidi, ogu, etebo, mikel are all defensive midfielders at dia respective clubs). We play 4 at d back most times and still play 2 defensive midfielders where will d creativity come from. The coach should stop being too conservative. I see no reason why if we r playing 433 why we cant play a combo of ndidi-iwobi-samu? I understand d need to try some players and I commend d coach for dat but where he got it wrong was the new players he introduced. Chima said and rightly so why even take kalu to the competition knowing he last played in January and add to d fact that he collapsed during training and u have fit onyekuru and chukwueze but d coach elected to use kalu instead, ofu brings something different to d team but today’s game was not for him cos d 3 midfielders (all defensive mind u where in each others way as dats d roke dey play at club level). Just my opinion tho.

  • Abah-fada 5 years ago

My heart bleed. We have been let down, and exposed to danger ahead.

No one saw this coming, even though we still have people in this forum who have categorically stated here that, we are heading for doomsday if the coach don’t refrain from some of his tactics. ( Omo9ja) comes to mind.

At this junction, I just want to sit and look at how the nations cup will end, not becsuse I have given up on 9ja yet.

In fact what happen to the team today will serve as a bitter lessons in going further in this AFCON.

All their outstanding have been cleared I guess, the will have to bury their head in shame for putting Nigeria down so easily without a fight.

The have succeeded in rating Madagascar high in FIFA ranking.

I still believe we will go far in this AFCON

  • Aquilani 5 years ago

NFF & our players are the bane of the Super Eagles and not ROHR. Demanding for your bonuses is very good but when the players refuse to train in preparation for a match in order to protest for their bonuses, then Nigeria should await a whitewash. God bless Nigeria!

  • Sunnyb 5 years ago

@pompei,, I guess u new here. Anyway stop calling opposing views haters or stop insulting them when the coach does well people have the right to praise him, and they have the right to criticize him when he fumbles. Go back and read all my comments before the tournament and before today’s game. I warned against this Madagascar team. Before the tournament I said this Afcon would be the toughest in years all pretenders would be exposed. The green white green flag belongs to all Nigerians u guys can criticize without insulting opposing views

    • Pompei 5 years ago

Sunnyb, is it not you that called me FOLLOW FOLLOW and SHALLOW MINDED? That no be insult? I will not go back anywhere to read your comments. And if you like, insult me again, like your friend UGO THE IMBECILE IWUNZE. I really held you in high esteem before today. I see now that I was sadly mistaken. Anyhow, to your tents, O Israel! I refuse to stop supporting Rohr and this team. Until they are eliminated. And even then, if we decide to sack him, so be it. We will let him go with dignity. He does not deserve the abuse and insults you guys are raining on him! If you can’t see that, then it is you that needs to take your own advice, as expressed in your last comment!

      • Ayphillydegreat 5 years ago

Don’t mind Mr FAIR WEATHER FAN. When you attack them with facts and vigor they begging to tremble. It’s an irrelevant match that we dominated but lacks cutting edge due to numerous changes. Lesson to the team and the coach. Do not change a winning team. Shikena. But any one who wants to keep crying can continue. Me sef Dey kampe.

      • GLORY DEDE BEEDIE 5 years ago

@ Pompeii. I truly love your spirit. Pls Care less about all d insult people are raining on d coach n team. Some could be their own honest opinion but I tell you, many are born out of self interest. Many have fav players they had expected Rohr to bring into d team. Many here are either agents boys, angry that their players didn’t get s look in,so these will forever pray that the team fails. How shameful. Till Nigeria gets kicked out, I stay strong n remain very optimistic about this team. He who laugh last laugh best. If we saddly gets kicked out, then we will look at d best decision going forward. So for me, it makes no sense condemning d team n coaches at this point or even pouring out insult on ourselves. I truly enjoy reading every ones comment here but d insult is just a let down, if only CSN can do something about it.

  • Congratulations to Madagascar. I said it before that we will surely miss Victor Moses in this current team. He was our playmaker any day any time. Nff should please look for a better coach now before is too late because I straggly believe that this team will not go far as far as this nations cup is concern. I prefer the morocco’s coach Mr.Harnad

  • Sunnyb 5 years ago

@Ayphillydegreat, bro I’m disappointed in your comments go back to all my comments, till this morning, I warned them against underestimating Madagascar I warned them against committing Silly foul outside the box, before the tournament I said all pretenders would be exposed, I was never Rohr bandwagon, but I don’t want him to fail either. You guys must address today’s failure due to tactical blunders same blunders we saw in Russia. I called for Denis inclusion because this team lacks the attacking bite. Bro truth must be told are really impressed by this team so far?Do u guys really thinks this team is well organized?

    • Ayphillydegreat 5 years ago

Today’s failure was mostly due to changes in the line up. You don’t change a winning team and I believe that must be a massive lesson going forward. Nobody here is a Rohr bandwagon, but we’re glad that he at least brought light into the SuperEagles after years in the bottom since 2014.

I have no problem with anyone who have issues with the coach and his tactics. However, present your arguments constructively not by attacking others with insults. If anyone starts an insult then they shouldn’t be mad if we return the favor. Until we’re eliminated from the tournament I stand by the team and the gaffer. Afterwards it’s up to those who employ him to decide his fate.

  • Sunnyb 5 years ago

@pompei, shallow minded was wrong choice of words from my part, emotions was running high today I sincerely took it back, I just like seeing guys disagree to agree without insulting each other.

    • Ndubuisi 5 years ago

Thanks for being man enough to accept your mistake I respect you for that. We lost a game today but still have another chance to correct mistakes noticed in our previous matches. Calling names and insulting everyone that has contrary view is wrong. I will not give up until they are eliminated. Those who were happy that we lost are not patriotic and real supporters and fans. We stand for better for worst. The worst scenario Rohr would be sacked if he performed poorly and some players will leave the team for good but all of us will still be here supporting whoever takes over. Omo9ja and his cliques are not heroes for predicting doom day who knows what happened in 2013 may still happen again where the officials has already parked their bags believing star studded Ivory Coast will eliminate us at the quarter finals behold the team surprised all. Only onazi introduced in the midfield to pair Mikel changed everything. We still have some quality players not used so far. Something kept ringing in my mind since we lost this match that its not over until its over. It may be difficult to sleep soundly tonight but life goes on.

      • @Ndubuisi, Knowing Gernot Rohr do you think he will be man enough to drop Musa and Ighalo and even Samuel Kalu for that matter??. the answer my friend is a resounding NO!! trust to see Moses SImon be the only new player introduced in the next game and that is for Samuel Kalu. Onyekuru was just brought here to warm the Bench such a shame what a wasted talent and to think he actually needed this Afcon to help his work permit chances which was another added reason he would have tried to out do himself rather Gernort Rohr wastes him on the Bench and starts Musa all the time. it is Sad very Sad we have a coach like this that is as Clueless as a headless Chicken

    • Pompei 5 years ago

Sunnyb, I knew that you were probably upset, which is why you made that comment. You absolutely have a right to your opinion. But please, never stoop to the level of idiots like UGO THE IMBECILIC MORON IWUNZE, who believe the only way to make their point in an argument is to rain insults on their opponent. I am insulting the living daylights out of that foolish halfwit Ugo Iwunze, so that he can see what it is like to be on the receiving end. I hope he is enjoying himself, the stupid dumbass! Anyway, Sunnyb, wahala no dey. Thanks and best wishes!

  • Some of us who has refused to support journeyman Rhor are simply men of our convictions.
Some of us know the difference between good and fair, better and best.
    Selfbelief is a virture.

Rhor is an illegal immigrant who was smuggled in through Garbon and Niger republic or Benin, I cant remeber which one.

A journeyman who has gambled with two different African nations and never made it to the quater finals, suddenly was brought here by Pinnick as a messiah without out any credentials.

If he is so super a coach, why did he not qualify any of the previous countries for the world cup like Keshi did with Togo?

Nigeria is a nation where people are so used to “manage”.
Mediocrity is part of their DNA.
That is why a professor Man of God will lie to defend and deputize a mallam without WAEC or SSCE certificate.

With all the information and proof out there INEC has no sarver.

    What a shame!!!!!

    • Ayphillydegreat 5 years ago

“A journeyman who has gambled with two different African nations and never made it to the quater finals, suddenly was brought here by Pinnick as a messiah without out any credentials”. Point of correction as much as you have a problem with Rohr he guided Gabon to the quarterfinals of the AFCON in 2012. He can be a journeyman but he has brought some light into the SuperEagles since we reached bottom after failing to qualify for two consecutive AFCON. Rohr will not be the SuperEagles coach forever whatever happens after this AFCON will be decided by those who employ him not you. Until then we the true fans will continue to support the team and the gaffer. If you got a problem with that, that’s your own personal opinion.

      • Bomboy 5 years ago
