Liverpool Played A Different System Against Nottingham Forest –Jota

Portuguese centre forward Diogo Jota says that Liverpool played with a different system in their 3-0 Premier League win over Nottingham Forest on Sunday, October 29 at the Anfield Stadium.

Goals by Jota, Darwin Nunez and club legend Mohammed Salah handed the Reds all three points.

The victory marked the Jurgen Klopp led side’s seventh win of the league campaign as they look to stay in the top four this season.

They finished fifth in the 2022/23 season and they were unable to qualify for the current UEFA Champions League.

In an interview with liverpoolfc.com, Jota said the first half performance was really good.

“Especially the first half was really good,” Jota said.

“Obviously (in) the second half they tried to react and we tried to control the game . But in the end it’s a 3-0 l, so three points we move. It’s always nice to score goals and obviously for me it’s really important. Especially today as well for Lucho. I was quite feeling I was going to score.

“A different Liverpool as the manager has been saying as well, it’s like 2.0. Different players, different system, different way to play. We are just trying to do our best and things are working well for us. As long as that happens, everyone will be happy.

“Yeah when things are going well and you are winning games it’s nice. We have a good team, we can make a lot of changes and still perform. We are still involved in a lot of competitions and we go for it. As long as we are winning, everything is fine.”

Jota’s strike was the 50th Premier League goal of his career.

The Reds are currently fourth on the log with 23 points obtained from 10 games so far.

They are first position in Group E of the 2023/24 Europa League with nine points after the first three games.

Jota has netted three times in nine EPL games this term for the Reds.
