Lokonga Accepts Transfer To Sevilla

Albert Sambi Lokonga has accepted to depart Arsenal for Sevilla as there’s total green light from the player now.

This is according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano on his X handle.

The Italian journalist reported that Arsenal and Sevilla are negotiating final details including buy clause, how to activate it and potentially make it mandatory.

On Tuesday, Romano said Arsenal have given the green light to sell the 24-year-old and in turn with the midfielder said to be keen on the move to Sevilla.

Arsenal signed Lokonga from Anderlecht back in June 2021 for a r£17.2million fee.

He arrived in north London as one of the best players in the Belgian top flight, having captained Anderlecht at the age of 21.

“I think Arsenal made a good decision on him and I think he is going to be a top player for Arsenal in the years to come,” Anderlecht sporting director Peter Verbeke said at the time.

However, Lokonga has failed to make much of an impact at the Emirates Stadium, and hasn’t played competitively for the Gunners since January 2023.
