Ademola Lookman was named Man of the Match after helping Atalanta defeat Verona 6-1 in the Serie A on Saturday.
Lookman was the standout performer for the Europa League champions bagging a brace and also providing two assists.
Aside his two goals and assists, Lookman had six touches in Verona’s box, had four shots and won four of his duels.
Also, he won four tackles, had three shots on target and also created two chances.
Ademola provided the assist for Atalanta’s first goal scored by Marten De Roon in the sixth minute.
In the 14th minute he set up Charles De Ketelaere for his side’s third goal.

Lookman then got on the score sheet in the 29th minute for Atalanta’s fourth and added the fifth goal on 34 minutes.
The win took Atalanta to fourth place on 16 points, six points behind leaders Napoli in the league table.
This season in Serie A he has scored four goals, provided four assists in six games and has five goals, four assists in nine games in all competitions this campaign.
Few days ago the former Everton and Leicester player made the 10-man shortlist for the 2024 CAF Player of the Year award.
He was named alongside Super Eagles vice captain William Troost-Ekong as well as South Africa’s Ronwen Williams, AFCON 2023 winner with Cote d’Ivoire Simon Adingra, and Morocco’s Achraf Hakimi.
Others also nominated are Burkina Faso’s Edmond Tapsoba, Serhou Guirassy of Guinea and Soufiane Rahimi also from Morocco.
Meanwhile, Lookman is the only African who made the 30-man shortlist for the 2024 Ballon d’Or award.
The winner will be announced on Monday, October 28, 2024 in Theatre du Chatelet, Paris, France.

Players in Italian league have attitude problem towards blacks. Lookman must grab any solid offer that arrives and leave this league after relaunching his career. Boy had hands in virtually all the goals but his team mates don’t even show appreciation towards him, even after a major assist to Retegui he was snubbed by the weirdo when he tried to congratulate him. Dekatalare or whatever also refused to celebrate with Lookman. Everyone thinking about themselves and the one who’s behind the hustle is not appreciated due to their inferiority issues. MOM to Lookman was a reminder to them that who God bless no one can curse.
I hope Egungu and his cronies will learn from certain nasty behaviours and try to better themselves, which will translate to how they accept others who might be doing better than them instead of funny tantrums that doesn’t prick the hated but rather kills the bitter.
