Lookman Thanks Teammates, Everton Fans After RB Leipzig Switch

Ademola Lookman has thanked his Everton teammates and the fans for their unwavering support during his time at the club, Completesports.com reports.

Lookman, 21, who impressed during a loan spell with German side, RB Leipzig in the second half of the 2017-18 season, signed a five-year contract with the Bundesliga club on Thursday.

He scored five goals in 11 appearances during his previous stint with RB Leipzig.

Lookman scored four goals in 48 appearances for Everton after joining from Charlton for £11m in January 2017.

“I would like to express my sincere gratitude to my teammates at Everton football club for all the love and unwavering support you’ve shown me over the past two and a half years. I’ve made some great friends at Everton who have made my experience at the club truly an unforgettable one,”
Lookman wrote on Instagram.

“Whilst I’m excited to move forward with the new opportunities ahead of me, I’m going to miss my teammates and everyone associated with the club.

“Last but not least I would like to thank the fans for their support during my time at Everton, I am truly honoured to have had the opportunity to play for you. All the best for the future, love.”

Lookman, who has made 11 appearances for England U21s, becomes Leipzig’s second Premier League signing of the transfer window, after Chelsea youngster Ethan Ampadu joined on a season-long loan on Monday.

Nigeria should embark on a scouting mission of Lukman and Tammy Abraham though difficult with the later who is so intent with the three lions but the former looks likely with careful approach besides England is not really bothered with him unlike Tammy.Yes we have a great chance with lookman.
Couple of players have left us with a few going as well due to poor input in the last Afcon.Players like this are the quality replacement we need going forward.

Ademola yes, NFF has to go for him. Something tells me he is destined for SE. But for Tammy, I d suggested, we let him be. NFF did everything to convince him but he went with England. We can only wish him well with his England choice. To be honest, he doesn’t look it for international football. This boy called Cyriel Dresser is my take. Let’s just give him a chance n see what he can bring. He might not be scoring quite often at club level but I see an international footballer in him. He is big, strong in d air n scores good goals. Rohr should give him a chance. If he impresses, great but if not he goes.

  • Something tells me for a player to first reach an agreement with someone and later backed out when it got to the press….. it’s fear.
Remember Iorfa? Same happened to him. I can only blame Pinnick then for broadcasting it when the negotiation was still on.
He can still change his mind I believe.
    Same happened to Phillips Billing..
Who wished and Supported Super Eagles well during before the world Cup..only to deny us when it got to the press
As for dessers, he really fumbled during his stays with Ultrech…I wish he can get back to his best with his new club..still wish we invite him though.he my be a national team player

You need have strong, no nonsense personality to hit it at international level. Tammy seem to lack this, reason England/ Chelsea doesn’t seem to even reckon with him despite him scoring applenty for all d clubs he is being loaned out to. He lets me down with d way he is struggling to stick with Chelsea/ England;even happy to play for their u-21, when Hudson n Jadon are becoming regulars at Chelsea, Dortmund/ England. It just tells you everything about Tammy, that he lacks personality n the balls to tryout with top clubs in other top leagues. Aina is one such player with great personality n balls, reason he is progressing really fast n not to forget Ademola Lookman, who is so confident of his ability hence refused to accept sitting on d bench. Also Tom Dele has also shown such trait in him by demanding for first team football from Pep, whereby he had to leave when Pep could’nt guarantee . That’s is one trait of an international player; no nonsense attitude.
