Maja Enters Record Books After Netting Brace vs Everton

Josh Maja entered the record books following his brace in Fulham’s 2-0 win at Everton in Sunday’s Premier League fixture, Completesports.com reports.

Making his second appearance for Fulham since joining on loan from Bordeaux, Maja became the fifth Nigerian player to score on his first Premier League start.

The first Nigerian to achieve the feat was Efan Ekoku in May 1993 and was followed by John Utaka in August 2007.

Peter Odemwingie became the third Nigerian in August 2010 and up next was Alex Iwobi in March 2016 during his time at Arsenal.

Maia’s brace helped Fulham pick up their first ever away win at Everton in league competition, on what was their 28th attempt.

Coming into the game, they had lost each of their last 22 away league games against the Toffees.

I’m just happy watching Nigerian players doing well in Europe.
On Saturday was Ndidi winning man of the match against Liverpool.
Yesterday was Maja and Moffi bagging 2 goals and winning man of the match for their respective clubs.
    Three gbosa for u guys.
    Gbosa!
    Gbosa!!
    Gbosa!!!

  • Guys Maja is has only 1 Cap for Nigeria under New FIFA Laws he is still eligible to play for England. and with the Way Rohr is handling this team I won’t be surprised if Rohr Will prefer to beg Ighalo than Include Maja. Then Will start talking about Maja when he is firmly on Englands Radar again. Rohr Maja should be included in the next list.

  • Nigerian players making themselves heard all over Europe with great display for their clubs.
Ndidi gave a masterpiece against liverpool, moffi and maja scored braces for their clubs, simon scored for nantes while others like aina, lookman, tosin etc.also played well for their clubs.
My guy sadiq was suspended for a red card and didn’t play over the weekend but he has received his player for the month of January award in the Spanish second division. He will be available for selection against cd leganes on Tuesday (tomorrow) where he will come face to face with Kenneth omerua now that is a battle I would love to watch.
Scorenigeria rated maja as the top performing Nigerian player of the weekend, moffi was second and ndidi third. Not bad I guess. I wish all our players an injury free campaign for the rest of the season with many goals scored and brilliant performances.

  • PAUL mukairu scored and caused a penalty today, its all happening for Nigerian players in Europe. Onuachu is listed as number 6 on the top strikers in Europe chart so far. Moffi makes lique 1 top 11 based on last week’s performance. It’s really good to see our players being recognized for their outstanding performances for their clubs. I just hope they can do same for their country when called upon.
