Josh Maja is determined to become an integral member of the Super Eagles following his first callup to the team for the friendly against Ukraine, Completesports.com reports.
Maja, who plays for French Ligue 1 outfit, Girondis Bordeaux, is one of the four new invitees for the game billed to hold at the Dnipro Arena today (Tuesday).
He was handed a late invitation by Super Eagles head coach, Gernot Rohr as replacement for Henry Onyekuru who pulled out of the game due to visa issues.
“I’m delighted to get my first callup for Nigeria. It’s a big opportunity to show the fans and the coaches what i can do. I am going to work my hardest to make all those who have made this dream a reality very proud,” Maja stated in a short video posted on the Super Eagles Twitter handle.
“I play as a central forward and I like to create chances and score goals and generally work hard for the team. So I’m looking forward to getting my chances in the team so I can show what I can do and also stay here for a long time.”
Maja has scored one goal in four league appearances for Bordeaux this season.
