Man United Legend Keane Eager To Become Celtic New Manager

Roy Keane is eager to become the new manager at Scottish giant after nearly two years away from the dugout, according to reports.

Keane has not held a manager or head coach role in nearly a decade but has been in assistant manager roles at Nottingham Forest, Aston Villa and the Republic of Ireland national teams recently.

He spent the final six months of his career at Celtic following his controversial exit from Manchester United in 2005 and helped the Parkhead club to the league title in 2006.

And according to The Sun, Keane wants to return to Scottish football and the move would fit nicely with what Celtic are looking for in Neil Lennon’s successor.

The Bhoys are reportedly looking to keep the existing coaching staff at the club but appoint a new head coach to direct them at the club, which would suit Keane as he does not have any current coaches working alongside him.

Celtic are also looking to appoint a new director of football as the dust settles following Lennon’s turbulent last few years in charge.

The 49-year-old was sacked by Celtic in late February when the club were 18 points behind Rangers in the Scottish Premier League title race.
