Manchester United have made inquiries about former Chelsea forward Timo Werner.
Werner struggled in front of goal during his two seasons at Stamford Bridge and made a return to Leipzig, who received £50million for him.
According to Sky Sports in Germany via talkSPORT, he’s unhappy with his situation back in Germany with his contract with Leipzig runs until 2026.
It is understood United are actively assessing the market ahead of the January transfer window, however, it’s not clear if their interest in Werner is firm.
The 27-year-old was one of Europe’s most wanted forwards after a 34-goal season with Leipzig in 2019/20.
Chelsea won the battle against then-league champions Liverpool for his signature.
However, despite winning the Champions League under Thomas Tuchel in 2021, the Werner returned to the Bundesliga in the summer of 2022 for £25m after scoring just 23 goals in 89 games.
