Manchester United have opened talks for the signing of Lille Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen.
He, 21, scored 18 goals in his debut season wtih Lille and has since been linked with a host of top European clubs.
The transfer race actually appeared to be all but over earlier this week as reports claimed Napoli were closing in on signing Osimhen in a deal worth more than €50million.

However, United have joined the race at the eleventh hour as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer bids to add more fire power in his front line.
And according to CalcioNapoli24, United made contact over signing Osimhen by calling his agent ‘hours ago’ to be updated on his current situation concerning his proposed move to Napoli.
There is a feeling, however, that United’s approach could be nothing more than a ploy from Osimhen’s agent to speed up Napoli’s negotiations and seal a better contract for the young striker.
Nonetheless, Solskjaer is keen on bringing a new forward given Odion Ighalo is only remaining on loan with United until January, and once he departs there will be no attacking cover for first-choice trio Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial and Mason Greenwood.
This lack of cover was proven on Thursday, as Rashford, Martial and Greenwood started together for the fifth time in just 17 days as United overcame Crystal Palace to remain in the hunt for a top four finish.

But he can’t play as back up to Anthony Martial.Far from it.
Apparently,Osimhen is the arrowhead of Nigerian team and must play regular club football unless he want’s other strikers breathing down his neck to assume position.
Which ever way,
I believe Victor and his new agent know what’s-up @ SE..
I wish him good luck

Good News from our Goal Keeping department this days. Hope haters can see GERNOT ROHR’s handiwork coming to play now
Bush boy.
The problem with Manchester United FC is that getting Oshimen means turning him into a sub for martial and Rashford which is not good at all . Oshimen is a 90mins player . I say no Manchester United
A club that really needs Oshimen must understand that he needs to play regularly and must be willing to give him what he wants because he’s worth it. And one thing Oshimen is right in wanting to make a statement relating to his salary. He cannot be payed cheap. Whether they like it or not
Osihmen will get all your messages. Hahahaha lmao clowns.
