Man United To Allow Pogba Leave Following Fernandes Signing

Manchester United will let Paul Pogba leave in a cut-price deal this summer after finally signing Bruno Fernandes from Sporting Lisbon, according to The Sun.

Fernandes signed a £55million deal on Thursday night — and is viewed as the perfect man to fill Pogba’s attacking midfield position.

Fernandes’ arrival comes at a time United’s club record-signing Pogba has been agitating to leave.

There have been links to Real Madrid and former club Juventus since the summer and the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner has been sidelined for most of this season with an ankle injury.

Pogba’s agent Mino Raiola has also been disrespecting the club with his public statements leaving manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and the United hierarchy ready to cut ties with the French World Cup winner.

United have an asking price of £150million but will no doubt be willing to drop it to get him out.

Meanwhile, Fernandes wants to take inspiration from countryman CristianoRonaldo, a United legend, as he could make his debut against Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday.

The Portugal midfielder, who like Ronaldo joined from Sporting Lisbon, said: “My love of Manchester United really started when I used to watch Cristiano Ronaldo play.

“Ever since, I have been a big fan of this great club.”

The 25-year-old said: “For me to now play for Manchester United feels incredible.

“I have worked hard to get to this moment and I can promise the fans that I will give everything for the badge to help bring us more success and trophies.

” I want to thank Sporting for everything they have done for me. It is surreal to hear the nice words that have been said about me from players that used to play for this team.

“A massive thank you to Ole and everyone at Manchester United for the trust they have shown in me and I can’t wait to start to repay that on the pitch.”

  • I am a Man Utd fan, but I’d totally support of Pogba if he decides to leave. He’s doing so much more for Man Utd than Man Utd can ever do for his career and that sucks. Look at Sanchez and Lukaku, doing so much better in their new clubs. Pogba’s career is at stake and him leaving Utd is probably his best bet.
