Manchester City Plot £90m Bid For Kane

Manchester City are reportedly set to bid £90million for Tottenham star Harry Kane in the summer, the Express reports.

City striker Sergio Aguero sees his current contract at the Etihad expire at the end of this season. So Kane could be the long-term replacement for the Argentina international.

Kane has become one of Europe’s most prolific goalscorers in the last six years.

The England captain has scored north of 20 goals in each of the last six completed seasons and has won two Golden Boot awards in the Premier League.

Kane has played a slightly deeper role under Jose Mourinho at Tottenham this term, where he has contributed an impressive 10 assists in 15 league outings.

The change in position has not affected Kane’s goal output though, with nine strikes to his name to go with his assist record.

And with Aguero’s future at City looking uncertain, German outlet Sport Bild say Kane is being targeted by the Manchester club.

Reporter Christian Falk tweeted on Thursday: “Our rumor of the week @ManCity is planning a €100 million offer for Harry Kane in summer @SpursOfficial.”

Aguero is City’s all-time leading goalscorer, having scored 256 goals since his arrival from Atletico Madrid in 2011.

But injuries are catching up with the 32-year-old, who has started just two Premier League matches so far this season due to a string of fitness issues.

Apart from four loan spells as a youngster, Kane has spent the entirety of his professional career at Tottenham.

The 27-year-old has scored a stunning 204 goals in 310 appearances in all competitions for Spurs.

But Kane is yet to win any team silverware in his career.

Earlier in 2020, Kane told former Spurs midfielder Jamie Redknapp he would consider a move away from the club if he did not feel they were progressing.

“It’s one of those things, I couldn’t say yes, I couldn’t say no,” Kane said on an Instagram live session.

“I love Spurs, I’ll always love Spurs. But it’s one of those things – I’ve always said if I don’t feel we’re progressing as a team or going in the right direction, then I’m not someone to just stay there for the sake of it.

“I’m an ambitious player, I want to improve, I want to get better, I want to become one of the top, top players.

“It all depends on what happens as a team and how we progress as a team. So it’s not a definite I’m going to stay there forever – but it’s not a no either.”

What Man City lack at the moment is a reliable, consistent hitman. Kane would solve that problem.
Mourinho, on the other hand, could use the 90m to do some good business for Spurs, if the money came his way.

Instead of Harry Kane, Manchester City should sign Onuachu Paul. He is far better.

    • I’m just speechless with this your comment…. Infact i’m muted….

God forbid bad thing!!! As a #CITYZEN, I reject this by fire! So when we sign him, we’ll have to retire Finidi George and Amuneke so we can get someone that will be crossing the ball consistently too cuz Mahrez and Sterling don’t do that.
