Marquinhos: Brazil Must Be Wary Of Dangerous Osimhem

Paris Saint Germain defender Marquinhos has identified  Victor Osimhen as Nigeria’s most dangerous player ahead of Sunday’s international friendly between the two countries, reports Completesports.com.

The Selecao and the Super Eagles will do battle at the Singapore  National Stadium, Kallang on Sunday.

Osimhen has hit the headlines this season in the French Ligue with Lille due to his impressive scoring form following his arrival from Belgian outfit,  Sporting Charleroi.

The 20-year-old has scored seven goals in nine league appearances for Les Dogues.

He was voted  Lille’s player of the month for September and has also been nominated for the Ligue player of the month for the same month.

” Nigeria have very physical and skilful players. Osimhen has done well at Lille. Virtually unknown before his transfer but now everyone knows him that shows he can be very dangerous. We have to put an eye on him”, Marquinhos told reporters at the Brazil training base in Singapore.

Brazil will face the Teranga  Lions of Senegal on Thursday, before squaring up with the Super Eagles three days later.

  • Noted…they’re aware for the fact that we have terrific striker who can pierce into there defense…dat dos not mean it would stop oshimen from scoring dat day….

What time is Brazil playing Teranga Lions. PKindly update me.

  • 1pm on sunday

  • It does not stop with the opposition players casually noticing Osimhen’s skills. Their coach will go to work and map out strategies to cage him. Has Oga Rohr done the same? Are our players identifying threats posed by the other team?

This is how winning teams introduce the invisible 12th player.

I am a bit worried about this sudden stardom of Osimhen. Hope it does not get to his head.

Every article you read theses days has his name written All over it. Even foreign sports papers (outside France) are all singing his praises. In the space of one week I have read two articles about him in foreign press.

These journalists know how to attract attention to you when the going is good. But if he fails to score in three consecutive games (God forbid), they will be the first to throw stones at him.

His growth in the game has been consistent outside the limelight. I hope this sudden fame will not stall it.

Hope he turns out to be Africa’s next George Whea who also gained his fame while playing in France.

No need to be worried @Bomboy! It should rather be a Heart warming news. A welcomed development.

My people this matter of Hyping our players should be well noted by football loving fans in Nigeria and in Diaspora. I was listening to Vincent Enyeama in an interview with the presenter on a Supersport program tagged “Naija Made” and when the presenter asked him about how he feels hearing News of Victor Oshimen’s recent exploits at his former club LILLE, He said in summary “he is very happy even though he has not met him since he arrived but he would like to plead to Nigerians and them(The Media) that they should please not just mention Oshimen and others whenever they score and talk them down during bad times but always cultivate the habit of HYPING them when they are in form”. He stated Oshimen specifically and other talents we have at the moment like Chukwueze and Kalu et al. He then made a point to back up his statement which made me concur with him. He said “Tammy Abraham, Mbappe are what they are today because of the hype they get from there fans and Media”…True or Not? True! All the young talents abroad presently making the news like Jao Felix of Atletico Madrid, Kluivert AS Roma, Viniscus JR of Real Madrid are just the superstars of our present generation today just because of the HYPE they get…simple! As at last season, Chukwueze was way better than Viniscus of Real Madrid but didn’t win LaLiga young player award just because he was not known to everyone the way Viniscus as been hyped! My people, what special thing have you heard of Viniscus this season?? and consider our very own Chukwueze still making the news but when Viniscus gets back to the field and scores just a Goal, his name will be everywhere.

The latest one now is Tammy and Ansu Fati of Barça. See the hype Ansu Fati has gotten since he came on this season only, am sure Chukwueze will be shunned for La Liga awards this season again despite his hard work and consistency while that boy might be given. Why? Cuz he’s not receiving the kind of Hype Ansu is receiving from the Media. Tammy is in no way better than VICTOR OSHIMEN! I can say that anywhere. I’ve watched Tammy play. He doesn’t chase the ball down and make the defense restless the way Oshimen does. He’s just a skillful striker that ensures he utilizes the chances that comes his way.. Nothing more and all this attributes of him, Oshimen also possesses them. So why would we have an Oshimen yet bite our fingers that we lost Tammy to England?? Cuz the British Media(the Boss at hyping) and Goal plus there fans have HYPED the hell outta that kid just cuz he’s scored 8 league goals and a Champions League goal.. Imagine!

So imagine the Greater heights our player would have gotten to if we also Hype our players! The fact that we all have to embrace so as to see our own players too winning AFOTY and numerous awards is that we should learn to cultivate the habit of HYPING our players when they are so when they lost form sef, people won’t notice just like what is happening to Viniscus JR. of R.Madrid now. CSN and other Media platforms, please Hype our players! We the fans Let’s HYPE them! Hype them! Hype them!

      Thanks

To be candid , i saw the talent or the quality these guys possessed at 2015 U17 World cup. I meant Osimhen and Chukwueze. One thing that makes me also happy about them is that are really young and will go places. i’m seeing one of them being the first Nigerian player moving to Real Madrid .

I don’t know the reason why Amunike can’t continue as u17 coach. We Africans are always in a hurry to be at the top imagine if Amunike and manu could be the head coach if u17 for ten years , the resources Nigeria will possess at the national level will be great.

  • OK first watched Oshimen’s relentless fight for the ball in Nigeria’s last friendly match. He was always a threat. He would have made a difference in our last nations cup
