Masuaku With Much To Prove

Arthur Masuaku feels it is time to show all at the club just what he is capable of doing after penning a new deal with West Ham United. After moving to the London Stadium from Greek giants Olympiacos in 2016, the 25-year-old has made 75 appearances in all competitions while also being capped four times by DR Congo.

The Hammers recognised his quality this summer by handing him a new deal until the end of the 2023-2034 season with an option for two more years. The Lille-born left-back is clearly well thought of at the East End outfit but he feels there is much more to come and is determined to knuckle down and prove his worth in the coming years.

“Sometimes, in the last couple of years, I wasn’t happy with myself when I was playing,” he told the club’s official website. “I feel like I can give a lot more for the club, the fans, and myself. “For me, I hope this year can be the year that I improve, and I can play most parts of the games during the season. I will be happy if the coach gives me this opportunity but first, I need to prove in training and in games that I can earn my position.”
