McInally Eyes Scotland Progress

Scotland hooker Stuart McInally claims his side must start competing on the road in places like Paris and London if they are to be contenders.

The Scots, who have been ravaged by injuries before and during the Six Nations, produced another error-strewn performance to lose 27-10 at the Stade de France on Saturday.

With games to come against Wales at Murrayfield and England at Twickenham, McInally says it is vital Scotland start competing with the big teams away from home.

“I would love to say that I know for a fact we’re really close (to challenging for the Six Nations). I do believe we are in a great place,” he said.

“We played some really good rugby in the last 12-24 months that shows we can take on anyone in the world, but we need to start coming into these tournaments and getting wins in France and going down to Twickenham and really making sure we are competing down there.

“That’s how we’re going to move forward as a team.”
