Mexico Friendly: Iwuala, Noble Recount Home-Based Eagles’ Unforgettable Experience In US

Home-Based Super Eagles captain, Anayo Iwuala has expressed delight with the opportunity given to the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) players to showcase their talents in the team’s 4-0 loss against Mexico in Sunday’s international friendly game.

The North American nation took the lead as early as the second minute through Hector Herrera. In only two minutes, El Tri doubled their lead, as Hirving Lozano linked up with Funes Mori, who found the top corner.

Mexico continued where they stopped six minutes after the break, as Herrera grabbed his brace. Jonathan dos Santos added the final goal in the 77th minute.

However, in a chat with the Super Eagles media officer, Iwuala applauded the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) for giving them this great opportunity.

The Enyimba star, who blamed his boot for a slow start, also recounted how he made some delightful moves against Mexico on one or two occasions. When asked if giving the opportunity to stay, Iwuala emphatically stressed that he would love to stay.

“I think it is a great experience and I believe anybody who has this same opportunity will have this experience that was been given by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) to come and showcase our talents in the US and represent our country Nigeria as a whole. I am really happy about this opportunity. You know everybody has the dream of coming to the US. If I’m giving the opportunity, I’ll stay.

“I don’t know really, maybe it was my boots were doing somehow, or was it the crowd. It’s cool though, but I still made one or two moves on the other side. But, I still made one or two moves on the other side.”

Meanwhile, Home-based Eagles goalkeeper, John Noble blamed the injury he sustained during training as the major cause of his ability to feature against Mexico.

Noble he stated that he was unhappy with the 4-0 loss against Mexico, however, thanked the NFF was the great experience giving to the players.

“For me right from the bench, I was feeling bad because I was hoping we will get a good result like a draw because lots of people are banking on us. But due to my injury, I was not able to feature in the game. However, I still thank God for the experience. At least this is my second time visiting the US, so it was a wonderful one.”

Zoo republic playing senseless friendlies because CAF refuse to take Afcon serious. But you see CAF president care more about South Africa and we are enjoying the COSAFA Cup. Because South Africa didn’t qualify then there will be make sure we cancel Afcon and play new qualifiers mark my words zoogerians. South Africa is African Leaders.

    • Idiot no be your fault I blame it on CAF, when you people think highly of yourselves, make silly comments and looking down on other African affairs whereas pay much emphasis to only your own doings. CAF is very much aware of what they are doing by postponing everything except their highly rated COSAFA Cup that they even invited Senegal. Mr Pinnick who has a big influence at the CAF should look into this.
