Middlesex Chief Delighted With Taylor Deal

Middlesex chief Angus Fraser is delighted to have secured the services of Ross Taylor for their One-Day Cup campaign. The New Zealand international returns to England after previous spells with Durham, Sussex and Nottinghamshire.

He will be available for six of Middlesex’s group matches, starting at Surrey on April 25, and could also feature in the play-off semi-final if they qualify. Middlesex are set to be without Eoin Morgan and Paul Stirling due to their international commitments and Fraser feels Taylor can fill the void.

Managing director of cricket Fraser said: “He is an outstanding cricketer and a cracking man. “The pre-World Cup schedules of England and Ireland mean that Middlesex will be without Eoin Morgan and Paul Stirling for more than half of the One-Day Cup.

“Eoin and Paul are outstanding one-day cricketers and we were keen to strengthen our resources on the back of their absence during the second half of the tournament. “To have the opportunity to fill these gaps with a player of Ross’ undoubted class is a real treat for the club.”
