Simon Mignolet has claimed the current Liverpool squad could not be more different to the one that missed out on the title in 2014. The Reds goalkeeper is one of just three players left in the current squad that lost out on the title five years ago.
On that occasion, Liverpool led the table by five points with three games to go but they lost to Chelsea and drew at Palace before Manchester City stole the title from under their noses. Some fans have still not recovered from the disappointment but Jurgen Klopp’s men can ease the pain by lifting the trophy this season.

Liverpool lead City as it stands and ahead of Chelsea’s visit to Anfield, Mignolet says the two teams cannot be compared, with the Belgian claiming the current crop are a level above. He told reporters: “The way we play now, after six years at the club, is completely different to what it was then.
“We had a big chance but we were relying on the quality of Luis Suarez’s goal-scoring, whereas now we are more together. We don’t concede many goals, and the threat comes from different angles rather than just one player. “In that sense we are more solid than when we were back then when we were relying on individual quality and individual players.
We are confident of course, especially when we play at home as we have not lost here for a long time [37 matches] and haven’t conceded many goals. “We are a lot more solid than we were back then so in that sense everyone is a lot more confident in getting the job done unlike back in the day against Chelsea.”Fastest Paying Betting Site in Nigeria: Grab your 140% First Time Deposit Bonus Now — www.Sportybet.Com Copyright © 2021 Completesports.com All rights reserved.
