Mkhitaryan Raring To Go After Comeback

Mkhitaryan Raring To Go After Comeback

Henrikh Mkhitaryan is hoping for an injury-free run after making his comeback for Arsenal’s Under-23s against West Ham on Monday.

The 30-year-old has been out of action since mid-December due to an ankle injury but he played the first half of the match against the Hammers before it was called off due to fog.

The Gunners were 3-0 up at the break but, in conditions where it was tough to see one side of the pitch from the other, the officials deemed it unplayable after the first 45 minutes.

Mkhitaryan has endured a truncated campaign to date, with four goals from 14 top-flight appearances and he is now eyeing a lengthy period in the first-team squad. “After a while, I came back,” he told the club’s official website. “I started playing with the under-23s and I’m very happy.

I hope that I won’t have any more injuries and I will keep playing.”
And the Armenia international was grateful for the help he received on the road back to fitness, adding: “I’m thankful to everyone who has been working with me. “To the medical staff, to the fitness coach and everyone, even to my team-mates.

They were supporting me every day. It’s life, everything is happening and you can get injured or something like that. I hope that no one gets injured any more and the team can be fully fit for the next games.”
