FC Cincinnati Nigerian midfielder, Obinna Nwobodo, has been in the news, for the umpteenth time for good reasons, following his man-of-the-match performance for the MLS side against Orlando City last Friday, Completesports.com reports.
Cintinnati pipped Orlando City 1-0 at the TQL Stadium, Cintinnati, Ohio on Friday June 24, and Nwobodo emerged the official man-of-the-match – his second standout player award in eight games.
Recall that Nwobodo, a former Flying Eagles and Enugu Rangers midfielder, won the man-of-the match award in Cintinnati’s previous home match against New England Revolution.
The 25 year old who joined Cincinnati in April from Turkish side Goztepe, has played eight MLS games for the Pat Noonan’s side so far and bagged two man-of-the-match awards.

“Obi [Obinna Nwobodo] led the team with 5 duels won, 4 tackles & 56 accurate passes (good for 92% passing accuracy– Haris beat him by 1%) + he won possession 9 x in #CINvORL. Feel like I’m repeating myself from last weekend…,” the Tweet reads.

“All the little things that go into this goal are so impressive. Watch this play 5 times & you’ll see something new every time. Shape, pressure, Haris & Obi forcing TO, Brenner’s patience & movement, Brandon making himself available, Lucho creating space to shoot & following it…”, reads the description of the second video clip tweeted by Stec.

Nwobodo should be in the next Super Eagles squad. He is great.
The question is, who can he bench in that midfield? Let us contribute with sense na.
He deserves an invite is the point not who he’s going to bench. After all no one has got a permanent Jersey in our team, every good and deserving player must be invited to prove whether they should get another call or not in subsequent games.
Well at this point Innocent Bonke can’t even Finish 40 mins in a SE shirt. I Would sacrifice Bonke and Shehu Ndidi automatically gets back in When fit and Nwobodo comes in For Shehu as we have enough defensive cover with Versatile Bassey.
Lol. Someone is commenting, and replying himself. Ignatius Abo, aka Willie Whitelaw, is the same person as Akanlo Ede.
Well done Pablo. He is also behind the Ghanaian ‘selfmadeking’ persona people on this forum are always fighting and cursing Ghana & Ghanaians over. I had written about him & his tendency to take up multiple names & personalities over the years here on complete sports
They still don’t know that boy. He won’t last in that league.
Why do you say so? He is a good midfielder.
