Moffi Was Pressurized To Sign For Nice –Lorient Chief

Lorient president, Loic Fery has expressed displeasure with the way the club sold Super Eagles striker, Terem Moffi to Nice this winter transfer window.

Recall that the Nigerian international signed for Nice in a deal worth €30m.

However, Fery in an interview with L’euipe, noted that he would have loved Moffi to join West Ham or Marseille instead of Nice.

He stated that the former Lorient striker was pressurized to accept the deal after turning down Marseille and West Ham deal.

“We had accepted an offer from Marseille and another from West Ham which were within our parameters. When you close the door, you have to know how to hear it,” Féry said to L’euipe

“There, Nice continued to solicit our player, even if there was no agreement. He was very unsettled. ”

Moffi scored 12 goals in 18 league appearances for Lorient before completing the switch to Nice.

He made his debut for Les Aiglons in the 2-1 win against Marseille last weekend.

    It’s really BAFFLING..

How come a 23 YEARS OLD GROWN MAN doesn’t have a MIND of HIS OWN and it’s been PRESSURIZED….

MARSEILLE would have be the BETTER OPTION…

  • There is no pressure anywhere other than money! At monkey post don’t fall for it. This is typical Nja way of doing things, money win it all.

We need to first know how much did West harm and Marseille put on the table before Nice offer for us to know whether he was presurise or not.

The guy don signed so we move, we can only pray for his success being our own.

Nigerian players are always making poor decisions. This Moffi should have waited for a bigger club instead of going to Nice. That is how Awoniyi went to the Forest instead of playing champions League football. Alex Iwobi is still in Evaton whereas his mates are in Manchester city and Real Madrid. That is why football of Nigeria is going backward.

I wonder what some of us spew out at times. Do we even care to know the details, dynamics and intricacies involved in some of these movements, transfers and transactions? It’s so easy for us to talk from the outside right, Terem is a guy from an educated family his dad played football and also a lawyer. Am not sure he’d allow his son make silly contract decisions. As per our players going to Real Madrid and all the listed A-teams, would you force yourself into a team that’s not interested in buying you, bcos I don’t just get what some of our folks here talk about. An analogy is me going to the gate of Exxon Mobil to say by fire by force they must employ me. Abeg make we calm down
