Morocco Hold Côte d’Ivoire To Draw In Abidjan

Morocco held 2023 AFCON hosts Côte d’Ivoire to a 1-1 draw in an international friendly game in Abidjan on Saturday.

Sebastien Haller gave Côte d’Ivoire the lead in three minutes of added time in the first half.

But with nine minutes left in the game Ayoub El Kaabi equalised for Morocco.

Côte d’Ivoire will play another international friendly game this time against South Africa on Tuesday, 17 October.

The Ivorians were drawn in Group A with the Super Eagles of Nigeria, Equatorial Guinea and Guinea-Bissau in next year’s AFCON.

While South Africa will face the Super Eagles in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

On Friday, the Eagles were forced to a 2-2 draw by Saudi Arabia in Portugal.

    So much panic from pundits after watching this game you would have imagined that Ivory Coast were winners by a wide margin. They drew, and in front of their own crowd
