Moses Was Impressive For Inter Against Genoa –Italian Journalist

Victor Moses has been hailed by an Italian journalist, Paolo Condo who said the performance of the former Nigeria international in Inter Milan’s win over Genoa was impressive.

Moses helped Inter to make a return to winning ways with an assist in their 3-0 victory against Genoa in Saturday’s Serie A match played at the Luigi Ferraris Municipal Stadium.

The Nigerian wing-back who made his first start since July 1st assisted Alexis Sanchez in doubling Inter’s lead in the 82nd minute after Romelu Lukaku’s opener in the 34th minute.

It was Moses’ tenth Serie A appearance since his loan signing from Chelsea in January and he was on parade for 84 minutes before been taken off for Antonio Candreva.

Condo discussed the Nerazzurri’s slick 3-0 win over Genoa as well as their season overall in an interview with Italian broadcaster, Sky Sports Italia immediately after the game.

“This season must be considered by everyone, starting with the coach, a constructive one. Inter must increase their pace, they can’t settle for getting to where Juventus are now.”

Condo chose an Inter player who impressed him against Genoa: “One player who impressed me a lot was Moses who has been very wavering. He made crosses from distance which is good.”

Although the retired Super Eagles star is yet to open his goal account in the Italian top-flight, the 29-year-old has so far weighed in with five Serie A assists for Inter.

Victor Moses is a quality player.Hugely experienced.I wont forget so soon the role he played on our road to qualification for Russia 2018.

Apparently,he was our best player his ability to unlock defences during the qualifier was epic.Victor Moses is still active and playing for a big team Inter Milan i still think we need Moses.

The world cup qualifier is just around the corner, the forwards we have now are inexperienced. They may be churning out impressive performances for clubs but when the chips are down, when a very serious situation arises would the likes of Osimhen,Chukwueze able to bail us out?Have they got the experience to salvage such difficult situation?Let’s not forget our game against Algeria (Afcon)so soon.

The world cup qualifiers are played with very high intensity.Countries are represented with their best and most experienced professionals.Teams win by the skin of their teeth. In my opinion we need our best and experienced players to execute this difficult games.

Meanwhile, the second stage of the qualifiers, should we scale the first is always a big hurdle if we are faced with the likes of Algeria,Senegal and Cote d’Ivoire as opponents.

Chukwueze is very talented no doubt, but i think he still needs two years to learn from Victor Moses.Victor Moses starting from the right then one of Simon/Samuel Kalu /Musa on the left and one of Osimhen/Ighalo centre as the case maybe. This is a more experienced and balanced forward then Chukwueze can come in as an impact sub.

I am making a case too for the return of Ighalo. We need this two experienced retiree back and soon.We need to be equipped for the task ahead.

@ Greenturf, it was Victor’s choice to retire. If he decides to come back and very well motivated, don’t think Rohr will say no.

        You 100% right @Glory

I understand what you mean @Glory,yeah Rohr said his door is always open should he have a change of mind.

But we reckon as well something may have gone wrong behind the back leading to Victor Moses sudden retirement. And i believe in dialogue. But sometimes we are too quick because of our ego to dismiss and not hear people out.It could be he was going through pains of something that may not entirely be his fault, something you and i don’t even know about.

If that’s the case the parties involved should be humble enough to resolve the issue for the sake of national interest.Victor is an exceptional professional.Let’s not forget the huge role he played towards our qualification in the group and later stages of our nations cup triumph.

I know he still has a big role to play for us but if he retired out of his own will and no fault of anyone then it’s up to him to come back to the team should he have a change of mind.

  • I rerpect every’s opinion but If victor moses comes out of retirement,he shouldn’t be use as right winger but as a right wing-back which will solve both our defensive problems as well as balancing the experience in the team.

moses is a modern day right back.he is defensively and offensively excellent.
he simply doesn’t need an introduction in this forum.

mind you, our problem in the SE in defence is not the central defenders(bcox we have aleast 3reliable central halves) but the wing backs.
in my opinion if we can have a 4-3-3 of
    Moses, Ajayi, Ekong and Aina.
    X
Ndidi, Aribo and Ejaria or Eze(if we can get him) X
    Chukwueze, Osimhen and Musa (C)
this will be a perfect blend of both experience and young talent.
and we will also have quality like Ejuke, iwobi, etc on the bench then we can make a strong statement at the world cup talkless of the qualifiers
i know many will not be happy seen Eze but that guy is the creativity we need in our midfield at the moment.
    God bless…

@King 07, Incase you’ve forgotten so soon let me remind you. Moses played as a Right Winger/On the wings enroute the World Cup. On getting to the World Cup, he played same role against Croatia and he including the whole team performed badly. The next game against Iceland, we had to change to a 3-5-2 formation which will mean Victor Moses will have to come back to his Chelsea role RWB but then he sees himself as the star player in the team (he was during the qualifier so you can’t fault him) so he felt the World Cup was his Chance to blow/shine so having to play the RWB didn’t go down well with him. The Coach had to beg and beg him. He accepted but not whole heatedly. You could see the Reaction on his face all through the game despite the fact that we won. He was just an Assist player. He felt he could have been the Song on everyone’s lips like MUSA was after that match. This moodiness and unwilling attitude to play that role for Nigeria, I’ll say cost us progressing to the Round of 16. How? Replay has it that Moses instead of covering his role well when Rojo was running into the box was seen strolling on the pitch as Rojo came from behind him and whipped the Ball into the Net. Report also has it that his teammates blamed him for his lackadaisical attitude after the match which got him angry. Then he announced the Sudden retirement. So sad. Hope you remember now.

So you’re now saying Moses should come back and play Wing back and you even included him in a 4-3-3 formation..funny. Did Moses told you that he is a Defender?? What forced him out of the National team was the plea to play him as a RWB and he wanted to play a LWF/RWF but you are even including him as a RIGHT BACK. You see you’re getting it all wrong. We all know Conte changed his game sadly. He was a bright star in that Attack as winger in his days at Wigan to Palace to Early Chelsea days before Conte changed his game. He had to join Inter because he needed game time, Inter is a big club in a more reputable league than Turkish league and the Coach believed in him but at the back of his mind he knew he was going to Inter to play as a Wing back not a Forward..never. So anything that will bring Moses back to the National team can only be an Assured place in that Wing forward as a Starter. Even when he was a starter in that role for Nigeria, he never seem a totally happy player probably due to the rumours we heard about him. Last to report to camp, first to leave Nigeria after any International match and hardly grant Interviews. Such a torrid life. Sometimes I feel for him. So we had better just let him be and keep on wishing him well. But if his experience is needed in the National team, It means Gernot Rohr is ready to give him an Assured place in the Attack line.

We dont need moses, his shakara too much. He wasnt that consistent upfront that is why chelsea used him as wingback.he tried liverpool, westham, stoke city fernerbache as a winger he still couldnt make it. I think moses should have played 10 for eagles where he could have been more espresive just like iwobi is doing now
