Muller: Barcelona Can’t Cope With Europe’s Best

Bayern Munich’s Thomas Muller said Barcelona can’t cope with the intensity of Europe’s top sides after the five-time Champions League winners crashed out of the group stages following a 3-0 defeat at the Allianz Arena.

Muller opened the scoring, with Leroy Sane and Jamal Musiala also on target, to condemn Barca to a place in the Europa League in the New Year.

It’s the first time since 2003-04 that the Catalan club will not be in the knockout stages of the Champions League.

“We really tried to get the intensity into the game because I think we’re really massively different to Barcelona, at least in their current state, because of that intensity,” Muller told UEFA.com.

“I don’t think they can cope with that intensity. Technically they have it all and they have some really good players, there’s no question about that, but we can deliver this intensity both in possession and out of possession. I don’t think they can cope with the intensity in top-level football.”

Barca beat Bayern in the semifinal when they clinched their fourth Champions League trophy in nine years in 2015 but a steady decline, underpinned by a financial crisis, has set in since then.

Bayern, meanwhile, have become Barca’s bogey team, beating them 8-2 in the quarterfinal in 2020 and 3-0 in both group stage meetings this season.

“I think the difference was certainly very clear, especially in the second half,” Muller said. “We should have scored more goals, but we’re happy. Barcelona are still a big name in the football world, so to beat them 3-0 twice — in Barcelona and again at home — is still satisfying.”

  • I also see goals being scored on this platform. Up Bayern! Up CSN?

    • I see the ? thing but it’s not every post you expect people to comment on. How can goals be scored on csn platform?

@tayo, didn’t you read about the Group C match in the recently organised SWAN competition as FRCN and Complete Sports battled with goal harvest? CSN did not show any mercy for their opponents, as both teams booked their places in the quarterfinals.

I don’t know how you people reason at all. Muller said Bàrcà can’t cope with Europe best, don’t think they can cope with the intensity in top-level football because you must score goals to be heard by the spectators. This isn’t far from the fact that Bayern won by 3 goals to nothing at the other end. All of a sudden somebody is talking about how the csn battled with FRCN. Assuming we are to journey that lane, what about Pooja Media which defeated csn and sent them to 3rd place match? That means Pooja Media could be seen as their leader having scored those goals.

    • @Chris Obubude, the final is actually between Pooja Media vs Communication Watch and it’s today. I am at the scene as well with inbuilt camera picking everything. My ref. was about scoring goals on the forum. I meant scoring goals on CSN platform based on the points being raised. These points are either implemented(goals) or rejected(noise). I have no idea why @tayo and @Nnemo misunderstood me by bringing in SWAN organized competition otherwise, I would have expected a discourse based on what Thomas Muller is saying of Bàrcelona FC.

I have also been following the thread to see whose position is being accepted by the stakeholders after the data are meant for objectivity and without which, you will continue making noise, result of which will be agitation while sounding abusive. Though there’s room for learning and improvement has been recorded by way of commentary, what is obvious is, it is good for the forum since many people all over the globe are reading.

Now, I have a little problem with Muller. Thomas Muller said “Barcelona can’t cope with the intensity of Europe’s top sides after the five-time Champions League winners crashed out of the group stages following a 3-0 defeat at the Allianz Arena”.
I’m telling Muller, it’s not just enough to tell us Barca can’t cope without reminding us that Bàrca is in its old self. Barca without Messi, Suarez abd Xavi as a player can’t do much even in Laliga. This is the problem of Barca.

Barca don’t have money here and there so my question is where is all the money they made since the day of ronaldinho? They was second in richest club for many years or even first if I’m not mistaken, where is all the money they made from always full camp nuo for almost 2 decades? Or the officials are sharing the money or something because I don’t really understand, so club’s without financial support and not winning anything for 20 years is now richer than barca? How? I really need an explanation please.
