West Brom have completed the loan signing of Newcastle United winger Jacob Murphy until the end of the season. The former England Under-21 international arrived at St James’ Park in the summer of 2017 but he has struggled to cement down a regular first-team place, with just 16 Premier League starts to his name.
Murphy has been forced to watch the majority of the season so far from the substitute’s bench but he has now swapped a relegation battle for a Championship promotion push, having joined West Brom for the remainder of the campaign.

It is unclear whether there is a purchase option included in the loan deal although the Baggies did agree to pay all of the 23-year-old’s wages.
West Brom will be glad to acquire Murphy’s services as they were believed to be the likes of Aston Villa and Middlesbrough both interested in taking him on loan until the summer.
