“Yes, I will be available for 2025 AFCON but 2026 World Cup is my main target and I feel I am coming to the best year of my career. I feel good physically and I am recovery well now. “So that is one thing I really want to achieve in my career. And I know I need to play well at club level to put myself in the picture and we have the chance to do so hopefully next year in Morocco. It will be better than we did in Abijan. “

The PAOK FC defender also reflected on meeting Lionel Messi as one of his best moments and losing the AFCON as worst moment.

“My best and my worst moments have been connected to each other. Winning a trophy has been my ultimate goal. But I have been so close. Playing at the 2022 World Cup, where I met Lionel Messi had in hand was my best moment and also at the 2023 AFCON in Abijan, where I almost won the tournament is the most painful moment.

“I think that’s the way I look at what I have done so far and look at what is ahead.”
