Napoli Boss Demands More From Osimhen After Defeat To Lazio

Napoli manager Rudi Garcia was not happy with Victor Osimhen’s performance in the 2-1 defeat to Lazio on Sunday night.

The Serie A champions won their opening two games of the campaign, but were stunned by Mauricio Sarri’s side in front of their fans at a packed Diego Armando Maradona Stadium.

Osimhen was caged by the visitors in the thrilling contest.

Garcia expressed his disappointment with the Nigeria international’s performance even though he acknowledged the forward performed better in the first half.

“He (Osimhen) also dropped off in the second half, in the first he didn’t have any sensational opportunities,”Garcia was quoted by Tutto Napoli.

“He is always a burden for the opposing defense, he creates spaces for others. We had opportunities, ambitions, and we were aggressive. But in the second half, none of my players were up to the team’s standards.”

The 24-year-old has scored two goals in three league appearances for Napoli this season.

Napoli president with his stingy attitude of not appreciating his star players with a befitting salary will haunt Napoli at the end of the day. When committed players like Osimhen and Kvaradona are earning peanuts with endless negotiations don’t be surprised if they don’t give their best because of poor morale, no wonder their former coach refused to continue with the team and ended up as Italian coach after faking a break to depart from this nonsense. Yeye president who only thinks of himself jumping from one vacation to another, this season Ac Milan will not slip for his try and luck business.

Nigerians never cease to amaze me! The job of a coach is to improve his players and this is done via constructive criticism. He gave him credit where due and criticized him where he feels he can improve. What is wrong with that?

If everyone is saying “you are great”, a player needs someone(especially the coach) whose job is point out the weak areas to the player. There is no need to be overly emotional.
