Napoli Chief De Laurentiis: Osimhen Will Sign New Contract, Can Leave If A Big Offer Arrives

Napoli president, Aurelio De Laurentiis has revealed that Victor Osimhen will pen a new two-year contract with the club.

De Laurentiis however stated that he is open to selling the player if a suitable offer arrives.

“I have said for a while that Osimhen has to stay. Then, if an offer came in that I could not refuse for the good of Napoli, then we would consider it, as is only natural,” De Laurentiis said at the presentation press conference for new coach Rudi Garcia.

Later on in the press conference, De Laurentiis revealed more details on the Osimhen situation and left the door open for others to leave as well.

“We already talked to Osimhen before the Scudetto celebration, so we already have a basic agreement on a two-year extension of his contract.

“The other players, that is something we need to study with Rudi, because I have for many years been convinced that pre-season training is fundamental.”

The 24-year-old scored 26 goals and provided four assists in 32 league appearances for Napoli last season.

The striker also added five more in the UEFA Champions League.

  • If osimhen will sign an extension, he will definitely demand 10 times his current wage which will unsettle the Napoli dressing room……Napoli won’t go beyond their wage cap for Osimhen because it has been Their long standing principle……I see Napoli selling osimhen for 100+ million and unearthing another sensation that would shake the serieA next season because that’s what they are good at…… Napoli normally buys cheap talents and turn them to world beaters but they had to spend big on osimhen to get the scuddeto curse lifted earlier and osimhen rightly delivered,so I see no reason for them not to catch out and recoup their investment now that osimhen still has a market value similar to what they bought him……. Napoli can not afford to hold on to osimhen and sell him cheap when he is faded like their other stars in the past…… Football is business!…… Little by little De Laurentian is showing his business side and admitting that osimhen is sellable and most likely leaving Napoli this summer.
