NBA Playoffs On Easter Weekend 2019

The NBA on YouTube returns this Easter Weekend with Eastern and Western Conference Game 4 Showdowns on the NBA Africa YouTube Channel.

The five-time NBA Champion San Antonio Spurs will host the Denver Nuggets at 11:30pm CAT on Saturday night. It is 1-1 after the first two games and the teams will meet in Game 3 on Thursday, before Game 4 tips off this Saturday. This is the seventh playoff meeting between the Nuggets and Spurs. The Spurs are making their record-tying 22nd straight playoff appearance after their record 22nd consecutive winning season.

San Antonio has reached the postseason in 39 of 43 seasons since joining the NBA in 1976. San Antonio coach Gregg Popovich (168) needs four victories to pass Pat Riley (171) for second place on the all-time postseason coaching wins list, behind Phil Jackson (229). If the Spurs win this series, Popovich would tie Riley entering the Western Conference Semifinals.

The Nuggets are led by Nikola Jokic who averages 15.5 points, 13.5 rebounds and 11 assists per game in the series. DeMar DeRozan leads the Spurs with 24.5 points and 9.5 rebounds per game.

Meanwhile the 17-time NBA Champion Boston Celtics will travel to Indianapolis for the 7:00pm CAT showdown on Easter Sunday. The Celtics are leading 2-0 after two games in Boston. This series has an old-school feel. Both teams play a hard-nosed, physical style, particularly on the defensive end, and have the depth to go all out. The Celtics and Pacers are meeting in the playoffs for the sixth time, all in the first round. Kyrie Irving leads the Celtics with 28.5 points per game with Bojan Bogdanovic averaging 17.5 points per game for the Pacers.

The teams that win four games in their best-of-seven series will qualify for the Conference Semifinals. All 2019 NBA Playoffs are available on NBA League Pass.
