Ndidi Features Full-Time, Iheanacho Subbed On In Leicester Defeat To Man United

Marcus Rashford marked his 100th Premier League appearance for Manchester United grabbing the match winner for the Red Devils who beat Leicester City, with Wilfred Ndidi and Kelechi Iheanacho in action, 1-0 to secure their ninth win in 10 games under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, Completesports.com reports.

The goal was Rashford’s 26th in 100 games for Manchester United.

United move into fifth place in the standings ahead of Arsenal clash with Manchester City, while Leicester remains in 11th position despite a spirited showing.

Ndidi who played the entire duration o the match bagged his 24th start of the campaign in the process.

Nididi’s Nigeria teammate, Kelechi Iheanacho’s made his 12th substitute appearance in 21 games this term. He was brought into the match in the 84th minute.

Leicester began brightly with Ndidi sending a glancing header off target, but United quickly began to assert themselves and Rashford somehow failed to score with a header from inside of the six-yard box after meeting Luke Shaw’s cross.

He made amends by putting United into the lead. Paul Pogba’s instant volley pass through to Rashford was finished off by the England international from 12 yards out.

Leicester produced a positive response with only a superbly-timed block from Shaw preventing James Maddison from potentially equalising with just David de Gea to beat, and the home side continued to match United in terms of general play.

Jonny Evans could have done better with a header at the back post, while Harvey Barnes was not too far away with a right-footed curler from 30 yards out.

Rashford had a driven effort from the edge of the area comfortably saved by Kasper Schmeichel just before half time, but Leicester ended the opening 45 minutes on the offensive with Pereira sending a long-range volley straight at De Gea.
