Ndidi Recovers From Injury, Resumes Training With Leicester City

Super Eagles and Leicester City midfielder, Wilfred Ndidi, has recovered from the knee injury that laid him off club and national team duties, his club has officially hinted.

Ndidi sustained the injury in March during Leicester City’s UEFA Europa Conference League round of 16 clash with French side Rennes after he tried to tackle Rennes forward Gaetan Laborde.

He missed a number of high profile games as a result of the injury, including Nigeria’s double header against Ghana in the 2022 FIFA World Cup African qualifiers playoffs.

Ndidi also missed Leicester City’s UEFA Europa Conference League quarter final and semi final games against PSV and Roma respectively.

The Foxes shared the news of Ndidi’s return to training session on their Twitter handle.

“Back with the squad. Looking good out there, @Ndidi25,” the Tweet reads.

Alongside the Tweet is a video of Ndidi participating in the pre -season training with his Leicester City teammates.

Despite the injury, Ndidi made 31 appearances in all competitions for Leicester City last season scoring two goals with one assist.

The Foxes finished 10th in the 2021/2022 Premier League on 52 points from 38 games.

Well said Brodaman. Ndidi’s the best candidate for the role of captain. Heaven bless Ndidi and all deserving Super Eagles players. Lolzzzz Za Za Za Zip.

  • You people were insultinh me for many months when I was saying he is the rightful Captain of Super Eagles as I have always maintained on CSN I will always be vindicated. Welcome back Onyinye Wilfred *The Rock* Ndidi the rightful Captain of Super Eagles..

He should be made the captain. Wish him luck and injury free season.

Maybe they should allow Ekong to play without the armband if he cannot be sidelined. Maybe the armband is affecting his game….JUST MAYBE

  • Welcome back my boy. God bless you and surprise you more than your expectation. More power, more strength and more skill IJN.

I would rather ve Iwobi or Osimihen as the captain these two has what it takes to be warriors  in and off the field. As for Ndidi  Elites teams would not buy this guy  until he learns to be more technical, learn how to be a good passer, and do away with Gra gra soccer.

Anyone who denied Ndidi the Captaincy Band of Super Eagle do injustices to the Nigeria National Team. No one deserves it more than Ndidi at this time. This is his moment.

        LMFAO!!!

Instead of all these unnecessary PRESSURE YOU PEOPLE are creating for NDIDI so, why not advice HIM to WORK more on his GAME?

He needs to LEARN how to be a ‘GOOD PASSER’ of the BALL..

LEARN how to take LONG RANGE SHOTS..

Be stepping up for FREE KICKS..(be GOOD too)

LEARN how to POWER his way through PLAYERS

LEARN how to come up with something SPECTACULAR when the TEAM needs INSPIRATION..

Also LEARN to have EYES for GOALS…

These are ATTRIBUTES that makes PLAYERS like YAYA TOURE LEADERS, WARRIORS, CAPTAIN MATERIALS and will be REMEMBERED for GENERATIONS to come..

@Ugo  Iwunze, bro, I may be wrong regarding his passing ability, but I don’t know bro if the guy has what it takes to be our next generalissimo. Getting  injured few days to the biggest match of ur lifetime hmmmm I don’t know. I know Most South American players would  rather face their rivals  in a very crucial match than getting serious injuries in a Yeye Europa conference cup. I have problems with his judgment and commitment. Just my opinion

You are right bro. Especially when you know you are at the bother line. Any little kick you might be injured. Even his coach Brendon Rodgers confirmed it back then. A south American player will not played the match knowing his national team is having an important match soonest
