Inter Milan have rejected the chance to sign Arsenal playmaker Mesut Ozil in the summer transfer window. Former Germany international Ozil signed a new three-and-a-half-year deal to stay at the club until 2021 in January last year, putting an end to speculation he would be leaving the Gunners.

However, Unai Emery’s arrival last summer has seen the 30-year-old midfielder’s first-team opportunities reduced and the pair are believed to have clashed on a number of occasions this season.
It is claimed the former Paris Saint-Germain and Sevilla boss was eager to sell the ex-Real Madrid star in the recent January transfer window although a move failed to materialise.
Serie A outfit Inter, who were believed to have been approached last month over a deal, have again been offered the chance to sign Ozil in what is thought to be a cut-price fee.
However, the midfielder’s £350,000-per-week wages are a huge stumbling block and the Nerazzurri have decided to look at other options to strengthen their squad in the summer.
