‘Neros Anambra FA Cup Is Model For Revamping Nigeria’s FA Cup’ –DOSAD FA Coach, Emmanuel

The two million Naira Price money for the Neros Pharmaceuticals Anambra FA Cup has been described as a huge motivator and a commendable gesture from the sponsors.

Former Jasper United player and chief Coach of one of the participating teams DOSAD FA, Mr Azubuike Emmanuel (Zubby) made the statement while speaking with Completesports.com in Awka.

While commending the sponsor, Chief Poly Emenike, Emmanuel says that Anambra State has set a good standard in football development through such high incentive FA Cup and a well organized Anambra Independent Football League with many teams participating.

“In the whole federation, there is no state that has the money tag equal to that of Anambra in FA Cup in the last 16 years. Anambra State has set the standard in that area and is making progress in the area of independent league.

“Football Association (FA) Cup is an old competition designed for football development at the grassroots that produces giant killers and needs to be kept alive through quality sponsorship. And that is exactly what the sponsor in Anambra State is doing consistently in the last 16 years.

“Good spirited individuals, corporate organizations can borrow a leaf from Anambra and do same across the country and reignite the fresh fire of FA Cup in Nigeria,” he said.

Speaking on his team’s preparation for their next match on Tuesday, the former Ranchers Bees player says his target is the two million Naira trophy.

“Our target when we began planning for the competition is the trophy. We want to do the best we can and by the grace of God, we will be in the final.”

DOSAD FA of Enugwu-Ukwu will clash with Peace FC of Awka on Tuesday. Both teams had a smooth ride into the quarter-finals after defeating their opponents Ozalla FC and Future Hope FC 2-0 and 3-0 respectively.
