NFF Okays Flying Eagles’ Performance In Win Against Dominican Republic

Secretary General of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Mohammed Sanusi has saluted the Flying Eagles following the team’s impressive win against Dominican Republic on Sunday.

Ladan Bosso’s side started their campaign at the 2023 FIFA U-20 World Cup with a 2-1 victory against the North Americans.

“We are happy with the three points though we wanted the boys to win by a higher margin as goals advantage do matter along the line in a competition such as this, Sanusi told thenff.com.

“The next two matches will be much tougher and I expect the Flying Eagles to also show sterner stuff.”

Next up for the two-time runners-up of the FIFA U20 World Cup is a clash with Italy at the same venue on Wednesday evening.

A draw will most certainly guarantee a place in the knockout rounds for the Flying Eagles, ahead of their final group phase encounter with Brazil in La Plata on Saturday.

3 points yes, but have to improve on goal scoring. The 2 goals were nearly fluke goals

  • Why is Completely Sports not sharing news about our girls performance at under 20 WAFU competition.

    Our girls beat Niger yesterday

With the way the flying Eagle played yesterday compared to what I saw the Italian U20 played against Brazil and destroy them, Nigeria stand to chance of beating Italy. Except they have to play as

    1. As a team

    2. Not too in a hurry to impress or show individual skills

    3. Not selfish and wasteful

    4. That Jude Sunday guy need to be talk to by ladan booso.

    And

    5. Our defenders needs utmost concentration from blast to finish of that game.

  • I trust nigerian team they wil play Italy as in they are playing Sao Tome. …and the results wil be flying turkcano eagles jet 1 Italy 4 .
U wil see now …as it was in the beginning since afcon against Tunisia til now .. it is attack attack attack.to open up the defense for Italy to score.

Oga, no two games are the same. At this level, most European teams find it difficult against top African sides. My main problem is Brazil, who have a way of dealing with us. We will defeat Italy if Bosso gets his tactics right. And those latees taking aimless shots and wasting chances should be talked to. They could be our problem, not Italy.

  • Is it me or the football cos I don’t see this team going beyond the group stages, not confident at all about 6heir chances at this tournament. Anyway stranger things have happened but for Nigeria it’s the hope that kills.
