The house-cleaning exercise in the country’s football following the mass resignation of NFF President Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Gusau and his board members has taken a new twist, Completesports.com reports.
This follows a directive from the football house ordering the appointed chairmen, directors and chief executive officers of the nation’s four leagues — Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL), Nigeria National League (NNL), Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) and Nationwide League One (NLO) — to step aside.
NFF Orders League Leaderships To Hand Over
The league hierarchies were asked to hand over to the Chief Operating Officers (COOs) of their respective leagues, who are members of staff of the NFF.

NFF said that where the COO is not a member of staff of the NFF, the Acting General Secretary shall deploy a new Chief Operating Officer (COO) from the Federation.
“These interim measures are intended to ensure continuity in the administration of Nigerian football during the transition and pending conclusion of engagements with FIFA, CAF, Government and stakeholders to design a roadmap towards the comprehensive reforms envisaged for the game and the next steps for activation.”
