Coach Benjamin Okaro of Nnewi United, a second tier Nigerian league side, has headed back to his base, United States of America following the decision of the NNL board to put the league on hold for two weeks, Completesports.com reports.
Okaro flew out through Murtala Mohammed International Airport on Monday night aboard Delta Airline and arrived his base, Massachuttes, to the warm embrace of his family.
“I arrived Nigeria in January and took up this Nnewi United coaching job,” Okaro, a former Enugu Rangers midfielder told Completesports.com.
“Since then – five months now, I had not seen my family.
“So, when the league was put on hold for two weeks, I decided to use the opportunity to go and see my family.”
Nnewi United currently sit top on the NNL group B3 with 10 points, followed by Dynamite FC of Benin with nine points.
