Watford goalkeeper Ben Foster says there will be no let-up in the league despite the defeat to Wolves denting seventh-placed hopes. The defeat at the weekend sees the Hornets slip four points behind Wolves who currently occupy seventh spot which could be enough for a Europa League spot if Watford are beaten in the FA Cup final.
Watford could be forgiven for putting all their concentration into that FA Cup final rather than focus on the league but Foster says they will not be doing that and want to finish the season strongly. He told the club’s website: “It is obviously hugely disappointing to lose the game in the way that we did,” he said. “It was a big opportunity to steal a march on everyone and try and claim that seventh position.
“But we have a couple of games left [in the league]. They are difficult fixtures but we will give it all we have got. “There is still lots to play for. “Nobody will be taking their foot off the gas. We have a Cup final in three weeks’ time and whatever happens between now and then, it has still been a successful season.”
