Nottingham Forest’s Awoniyi Seeks Historic Record Against Arsenal

Taiwo Awoniyi will look to make history when Nottingham Forest host Arsenal in their Premier League clash at the City Ground on Saturday (today).

Awoniyi has scored four goals in his last two games for the Tricky Trees and can join the elite class of Nottingham Forest players to have scored in three consecutive league games with another goal in this tie.

Only two Nottingham Forest’s players, Dougie Freedman and Danilo have achieved the feat.

Freedman achieved the feat in the 1998/99 season, while Danilo equaled the record this season.

Awoniyi recently returned to action for Nottingham Forest after missing action for around two months as a result of groin injury.

The Nigeria international has scored nine goals and provided one assist in 25 league appearances for Steve Cooper’s side this season.
