Sunshine Stars head coach Kennedy Boboye is optimistic the Owena Waves will maintain their top-flight status at the end of the season.
The Akure club boosted their chances of staying in the Nigeria Premier Football League courtesy of a 2-0 away win at Gombe United on Sunday.
Promise Awosanmi and Lucky Nwafor were the goal scorers for Sunshine Stars in the game.
The Owena Waves moved to 14th position on the table following win.

“I’m glad that we picked the much needed points in Gombe,” Boboye stated in a post-match interview.
“it’s a result we so desire and I’m glad we got it done , Gombe United are not a bad side at all but that’s football for you.
“We will keep pushing till the end of the season.”
Sunshine Stars will now shift attention to Wednesday’s President Federation Cup quarter-final clash with Kano Pillars.
