Ahmed Musa put up a fantastic performance as Kano Pillars beat Nasarawa United 1-0 to regain top spot in the Nigeria Professional Football League, reports Completesports.com.
Musa was a thorn in the flesh of Nasarawa United defenders, who struggled to cope with his strength and pace throughtout the game.
Auwalu Ibrahim netted the winning goal for the home team in the 25th minute.
Pillars top the table with 43 points from 22 games.
Former champions Enyimba recorded the only away win of the day edging out Wikki Tourists 2-1 at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Stadium, Bauchi.
Reuben Bala turned in Tosin Omoyele’s pass to hand the People’s Elephant the lead on 15 minutes.
The hosts fought back and got the equaliser through Stephen Gopey two minutes after the half hour mark.
Omoyele scored the winning goal for Enyimba from Anayo Iwuala’s cross in the 67th minute.
Elsewhere, Kwara United and Rivers United battled to a 1-1 draw in a thrilling contest in Ilorin.
Joseph Onoja silenced the home fans with a superb strike two minutes after the break, while Christopher Nwaeze equalised for Kwara United 16 minutes before regulation time.
The South West derby between Sunshine Stars and MFM in Akure ended in a barren draw.

Bottom club Adamawa United beat Katsina United 1-0 with Sanusi AbdulMutalib scoring an own goal in the 57th minute.
At the Ozoro Stadium, Warri Wolves boosted their survival hopes following a hard-fought 1-0 win against Lobi Stars.
Efe Yarhere fired home the only goal of the game in the 36th minute after he was set up by Williams Sunday.
Three more matches will be played on Thursday with Abia Warriors hosting Akwa United at the Okigwe Township Stadium, while Plateau United will be up against Heartland in Jos.
The Nnamdi Azikwe Stadium, Enugu will host the encounter between Rangers and Jigawa Golden Stars.

Kano Pillars were not top of the league before Musa joined them. His presence has catapulted them to the top of the league and they don’t look like relinquishing that spot until the end of the campaign.

Yea… Everything seems good now right? Why most folks during his idle period were not forthright with way forward for Ahmed Musa, I was the only one on this forum who advised that needs to atleast sign for an NPFL side to stay fit and project humility and professionalism. He being the humble dude he is, took the cue and no one can criticize Rohr for calling him up again because he has shown WHT he can do on the biggest stage, and is now rightly active. So you all should remember to give me some due props… I am not one to ever write off NPFL or other stronger African local league like Egypt, Tunisia or South Africa. I believe the difference between here and there is time and chance… One love!
