Katsina United opened their 2026 Pre-Season Super Six tournament with a 2-0 win against El Kanemi Warriors in Jos on Friday, completesports.com reports.
A brace from Abdurrahman Garba secured Katsina United the win in their first tie on matchday 2 and which also book their spot in the semifinal.
Garba opened the scoring in the 14th minute before getting his second goal on 27 minutes to put his side 2-0 ahead.
El Kanemi has now lost back-to-back matches the six-team in invitational tournament.
The Maiduguri-based club suffered a 1-0 defeat to hosts Mighty Jets on matchday 1 on Wednesday.
The other fixture for matchday 2 will see Enugu Rangers take on Rivers United later on Thursday.
Rivers United would hope to bounce back from their 1-0 loss to Plateau United in Wednesday’s tie.
